Functional IT Analyst - Treasury Application

Join Atlas Copco’s global treasury IT hub as a pivotal Functional IT Analyst responsible for the Payment Factory platform known as Trax. You will play a crucial role in sustaining and enhancing an advanced payment execution system that supports operations across multiple countries and entities. Your work will ensure compliance with complex international regulatory frameworks while driving the continuous evolution of financial and technical standards within the platform.

Your primary duties include leading the integration of new business units and ERP systems into Trax, guaranteeing seamless technical connectivity through APIs or SFTP channels and ensuring payment format compliance with both global and local regulations. Employing a proactive and analytical mindset, you will identify operational bottlenecks and develop strategic solutions to optimize payment processing efficiency on a global scale.

Collaboration is central to your role, as you will engage closely with cross-disciplinary teams comprising Group Treasury, IT specialists, ERP consultants, end-users, and external partners such as FIS. Serving as a second-level support expert, you will expertly diagnose complex payment system issues, coordinate swift resolutions, and liaise with third-party vendors to ensure uninterrupted service availability.

Key Responsibilities

  • Function as the main functional owner and steward of the Trax Payment Factory platform to maintain operational integrity, compliance, and drive continuous improvements aligned with the strategic objectives of Group Treasury and regulatory guidelines worldwide.
  • Drive the end-to-end onboarding initiatives for newly acquired business entities and ERP migrations, collaborating with both internal stakeholders and external service providers to validate payment file formats, ensure accurate data transmission, and navigate diverse country-specific banking and regulatory compliance requirements.
  • Maintain up-to-date expertise on global payment standards including various ISO 20022 message types and banking country schemas, ensuring all payment instructions adhere to local laws, sanctions policies, and commonly accepted banking practices.
  • Lead functional system testing, manage incident resolution processes, and execute necessary system customizations to implement platform enhancements while mitigating associated risks.
  • Provide advanced troubleshooting and second-level support for complex payment execution challenges, performing thorough root cause analyses and orchestrating corrective measures in collaboration with internal teams and external vendors.
  • Continuously monitor critical payment data quality encompassing master data, static files, and bank routing details; propose and implement process improvements to harmonize payment operations across multiple ERP systems and geographical locations.
  • Develop comprehensive documentation including user guides, training materials, and best practices to empower users and enhance organizational know-how around the Payment Factory platform.
  • Effectively communicate project updates, system changes, risks, and progress to diverse functional teams and senior leadership to ensure alignment and transparency.

This role provides a unique opportunity to contribute at the intersection of finance, technology, and compliance in a complex multinational setting, where your expertise will have a tangible impact on the efficiency and integrity of global treasury operations.

To succeed, you will need

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance, Information Technology, Business Administration, or a closely related discipline.
  • Demonstrable experience in payment operations, ERP payment workflows, and functioning within financial systems as a functional analyst.
  • Proven track record with migration, transition, or roll-out projects involving payment platforms or enterprise systems.

Technical and Functional Skills

  • Deep understanding of global payment processes, banking operations, and industry-specific payment intricacies.
  • Sound knowledge of payment standards such as ISO 20022 (pain.001, camt.053, camt.054) and compliance with various bank-specific requirements.
  • Familiarity with multiple ERP payment modules and their interfaces, including SAP, GEMS, BPCS, and ACDC.
  • Basic technical proficiency in systems integration technologies, including API protocols, SFTP data transmission, structured XML formatting, and data mapping.
