Mission/Purpose of the Role:
The Global Instructional Design Manager is responsible for leading a team that designs and develops technical and behavioral learning solutions for employees across three divisions: Semiconductor, Semiconductor Service, and Vacuum Chamber Solutions. This role ensures that training development requirements are understood, appropriately scoped, prioritized, and delivered to the agreed quality standards, within time and budget. Additionally, the role brings a strong flair for learning innovation to ensure that learning solutions continuously evolve in line with technological advances and maximize opportunities to develop and exploit existing internal and future knowledge management systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and inspire the global Instructional Design team to deliver effective and engaging learning solutions across all competency types (Core, Functional & Product).
- Establish the strategic direction for the adoption of technology-driven learning & development solutions and activities across all Semi divisions.
- Work with senior business leaders and L&D stakeholders to design and communicate a vision of technology-enhanced digital learning to translate opportunities into meaningful business plans that will secure intellectual backing and investment.
- Ensure the Instructional Design team is appropriately resourced and has the knowledge, skills, and processes necessary to develop the solutions that have been defined.
- Develop and manage commercial relationships with a range of suppliers that can provide specialist knowledge and services to realize each business plan 5.
- Maintain an up-to-date knowledge of leading-edge learning technologies and disseminate across the organization.
- Monitor, evaluate, and report on digital learning adoption and performance across the Semi divisions.
- Lead adoption of immersive learning technologies across Semi (AR/VR/MR)
- Determine areas for adopting immersive learning technologies that deploy high added value
- Ensure competent internal resources are available to support and sustain the deployed technologies e-learning / m-learning
- Determine strategic direction for increased adoption of e-learning and m-learning across the Semi divisions
- Design and implement an e/m-learning content strategy that fits current and future needs of the supported division
- Ensure competent resources are available to support and sustain the e/m-learning content strategy
- Work with key stakeholders to ensure the employment of e/m-learning solutions is practically feasible
- Establish a methodology framework for implementation and use of instructionally enhanced video content
- Ensure learning programmes are a blend of required, beneficial and available resources that all together form an improved learning experience
- Establish collaboration with information/data owners to build an eco-system that provides learners with access to all resources when & where they need them
Skills/Knowledge?Experience:
- Educated to Degree level or equivalent
- Strong background in adult learning field
- Extensive experience in the development of technical and soft-skill learning solutions
- Strong knowledge of Instructional Design principles and lifecycle planning
- Fluent in English (written and verbal)
- Excellent communications skills – written and verbal
- Regional and International travel requirement – Occasional
