You will be expected to demonstrate a methodical and detailed approach towards end-to-end System Integration Testing, verification methodologies, quality assurance, and technical leadership. As a Lead Engineer, you will guide the testing team, define test strategies, ensure integration readiness across subsystems, and drive quality throughout the product validation lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities:

  • End-to-End System Integration Testing
    • Define and drive system integration test strategy covering hardware, firmware, software, communication interfaces, devices, APIs, and connected subsystems.
    • Plan and execute integration test scenarios across complete product workflows, including system bring-up, subsystem interaction, regression, failure handling, and release validation.
    • Validate end-to-end behavior across embedded controllers, sensors, communication protocols, HMIs/tools, and cloud or backend integrations wherever applicable.
  • Lead Engineer Responsibilities
    • Take technical ownership of test planning, estimation, execution approach, defect triage, test reporting, and release quality inputs.
    • Guide and mentor the testing team on test design, automation practices, integration testing approach, debugging methods, and quality standards.
    • Coordinate with embedded, software, hardware, DevOps, and product teams to ensure clear test scope, readiness, dependencies, and timely closure of issues.
  • Test Planning, Automation, and Execution
    • Develop comprehensive test plans, integration test cases, test data, and acceptance criteria based on system requirements and product specifications.
    • Design, implement, and maintain automated test scripts, reusable test frameworks, and validation tools using Python and suitable automation technologies.
    • Execute manual and automated tests, analyze results, identify defects, support root-cause analysis, and ensure effective defect tracking and closure.
  • Embedded Systems and Interface Validation
    • Perform embedded system, firmware, HIL/SIL, controller, sensor, and communication interface testing to ensure compliance with functional and system specifications.
    • Validate communication protocols and interfaces such as UART, SPI, I2C, CAN, Ethernet, Modbus, MQTT, or other product-specific protocols.
    • Support debugging using appropriate tools, logs, traces, simulators, test benches, measurement instruments, and hardware/software diagnostic methods.
  • Quality Assurance and Continuous Improvement
    • Ensure adherence to test processes, software development standards, quality practices, documentation discipline, and release readiness expectations.
    • Improve test coverage, automation maturity, regression efficiency, CI/CD integration, defect prevention, and overall quality engineering practices.
    • Communicate test progress, risks, findings, quality metrics, and recommendations clearly to stakeholders and project teams.

To succeed, you will need

Education:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electronics / Software. 

Experience

  • Minimum 8+ years of experience Embedded Systems testing, quality assurance, and end-to-end System Integration Testing.
  • Proven experience with Python, with Automation Frameworks.
  • Strong knowledge of embedded systems testing, integration testing, subsystem validation, defect analysis, and release quality assurance.

Technical Skills

  • Proficiency in developing automated test scripts using Python.
  • Experience with embedded system development/testing tools, integration test benches, simulators, HIL/SIL environments, and debugging instruments.
  • Familiarity with communication protocols (e.g., UART, SPI, I2C, CAN).
  • Knowledge of version control systems (e.g., Git, BitBucket).
  • Understanding of CI/CD pipelines and tools (e.g., Jenkins).

This role offers a hybrid working arrangement, allowing you to split your time between working remotely and being on-site at our Atlas Copco Group, GECIA in Pune, India.
