About the Role

As a Production Engineer in the Engineered Solutions team, you will oversee the Engineered Solutions (ES) assembly area and test bed operations. You will lead assembly teams, contractor personnel, and coordinate with multiple stakeholders to achieve monthly production targets while adhering strictly to quality, safety, and schedule commitments. Your responsibilities extend from project initiation through to packing and dispatch, maintaining high standards aligned with Atlas Copco’s global benchmarks.

Key Responsibilities

  • Efficiently manage ES assembly and testing areas, ensuring smooth workflow and optimal space utilization.
  • Plan, allocate, and coordinate manpower effectively in close cooperation with ES Line Leaders.
  • Conduct daily production meetings focused on project progress, quality issues, testing schedules, and delivery timelines.
  • Coordinate with line leaders and supply chain teams to guarantee material availability while avoiding inventory excess.
  • Communicate and escalate material shortages, BOM inconsistencies, or quality concerns promptly to relevant teams.
  • Oversee assembly of complex products including diesel-driven compressors, skids, modular machines, dryers, and special engineering projects.
  • Manage activities of third-party contractors involved in ES projects and liaise with vendors to secure technical or operational support.
  • Initiate and manage internal inspections and audits, ensuring compliance and continuous adherence to standards.
  • Ensure safe and secure packing, preservation, loading, and timely dispatch of all finished products according to company policies.

Quality & Compliance

  • Verify that all products undergo assembly and testing strictly following approved work instructions and processes.
  • Maintain comprehensive project documentation including inspection records, testing reports, and production data, ensuring traceability and audit readiness.
  • Drive closure of inspection observations and respond swiftly to quality concerns.
  • Monitor and mitigate process and material rejections, managing proper scrapping and disposition procedures post project completion.
  • Participate actively in quality improvement and cost reduction initiatives contributing to enhanced product standards and operational efficiency.

Safety & Workplace Management

  • Promote and lead a robust safety culture within assembly and testing areas.
  • Ensure team compliance with safety standards, including personal protective equipment (PPE) use and test bed safety protocols.
  • Enhance workplace conditions through effective implementation of 5S principles, maintaining discipline and adherence to company guidelines.
  • Encourage operators and teams to identify potential safety risks proactively and implement mitigation strategies.

Compressor Testing & Validation

  • Take full ownership of compressor testing activities, including diesel- and electrically-driven compressor units, and related packages.
  • Carry out mechanical, functional, performance, reliability, and validation testing independently and ensure strict compliance with Atlas Copco’s standards and customer requirements.
  • Plan testing schedules aligned with project milestones and deliver on dispatch commitments.
  • Conduct comprehensive tests such as pressure, flow, temperature, vibration, safety shutdowns, unloading/loading, and performance verifications.
  • Analyze test data rigorously, prepare detailed test reports, and support preparation for Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT), customer inspections, and third-party witness testing.
  • Lead troubleshooting efforts across compressor system components, including air-end, engine, electrical, control, fuel, and cooling systems.
  • Collaborate closely with Cross Functional Teams (Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, Supply Chain, Service, and Project Management) to resolve issues and drive product improvements.
  • Ensure all test equipment and instrumentation are well-maintained and calibrated.
  • Support prototype, pilot, and newly developed compressor package testing activities, providing valuable feedback to engineering teams for continued innovation.

Continuous Improvement & Leadership

  • Drive implementation of process, product, and organizational improvements on the production line.
  • Coordinate rework and repair activities proactively across various work sites including assembly, test cells, storage, and vendor/customer locations.
  • Manage production and testing data meticulously to enable performance tracking and decision making.
  • Support resource planning including estimation of man-hours needed for projects and testing.
  • Lead continuous improvement projects targeting Quality, Cost, Delivery, Safety, and Productivity (QCDSP).
  • Build and sustain effective collaboration channels across diverse teams and stakeholders to enhance operational excellence.
  • This role requires commitment to working six days a week to ensure close coordination with assembly teams and meet strict delivery demands.

Personality and Skills

  • Pro-active and positive team player with excellent interpersonal and communication skills, thriving in a dynamic, multicultural working environment.
  • Self-motivated, organized, flexible, and methodical with the ability to work independently under pressure without compromising quality.
  • Passionate about leading local and export projects to deliver superior products in Compressor Technique.
  • Customer-centric mindset with strong networking capabilities within and outside the organization.
