Project Engineer - Controller

Your role
Mission
As a Project Engineer, you will be at the forefront of developing and implementing innovative aftermarket products that enhance the efficiency and reliability of our global installed base. You will drive the product life cycle for controllers & support for motors/drives, from feasibility to final implementation, ensuring that our service offering is aligned with the latest technological requirements and meets the needs of our customers worldwide.
Roles and Responsibilities
Project Ownership: Manage the full process from feasibility studies, design, development, and testing to the final implementation of products.
You take the lead in product development within the aftermarket engineering team
- Take ownership of new aftermarket products, including upgrade kits to integrate the latest in-house developed controllers.
- You will support the team in the development of drive upgrade products in all steps of the project such as the creation of parameter files and service diagrams.
Product Life Cycle Management: Oversee the entire product life cycle, ensuring global availability and efficient adoption across different regions.
You create electrical diagrams reflecting our upgrade products on the retrofitted installed base to visualize the as-maintained situation of our units.
You collaborate and build relationships within the company across different teams:
- Work closely with internal teams such as marketing and purchasing, as well as external suppliers and global counterparts, particularly in Belgium, to ensure smooth project execution.
- Support technical support on resolving complex field issues related to controllers. Including communication and regulation from our controllers towards frequency drives.
Continuous Innovation: Drive innovation by implementing solutions that increase product efficiency and reliability, aligning with the company’s technological and environmental goals.
- You are the spokesperson in the team related to controller and electrical knowledge and consult other teams in this area.
Global Product Deployment: Facilitate the integration of products into local designs across our worldwide product companies.
Supporting the creation of technical documentation for the roll-out of our connectivity products
You will be responsible for maintaining AIRport for aftermarket products
- Supporting the aftermarket engineering team in uploading files to AIRport.
- You will maintain the AIRport database.
- Responsible for application upgrades on data files, both for our in-house controllers as frequency drive datasets.
To succeed, you will need
Educational Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or a related field
- Master’s degree in electrical engineering or a related field would be added advantage.
Experience
3-5 years of professional experience in product development, with a focus on electrical engineering or related domains.
You have a strong technical knowledge and have some knowledge of the compressed air industry.
Specific knowledge of the Atlas Copco Compressors & service products such as unit controllers are considered a strong plus.
You are fluent in English: both written and spoken. You able the cope with language barriers.

Hybrid
This role offers a hybrid working arrangement, allowing you to split your time between working remotely and being on-site at our Pune office.
