SAP BW/HANA Platform Owner

Your Role:

The Platform Owner is accountable for end-to-end Platform management, from setting the strategy through to managing roadmap delivery. They manage the development of shared capabilities and services upon which new Product solutions can be built (aligned with wider Business and IS objectives).

Main Responsibilities:

Speciailises in a specific Platform area and dispenses the following duties:

• Builds trusted partnerships with Product Owners, Solution Architects, and other technical stakeholders, collaborating to realise value-adding IS solutions.
• Manages the Platform team across all stages of the delivery lifecycle (e.g., planning, solution design, delivery), motivating them to understand stakeholder challenges and needs.
• Manages a Platform backlog of technical requirements, prioritised based on Business and IS priorities.
• Clearly articulates how the Platform fits into the wider technology ecosystem and how it maximises value in line with Business and IS objectives.
• Responsible for defining and delivering the Platform roadmap, building shared technology capabilities and services upon which Product solutions can be built.
• Gathers Platform requirements, translating them into features and user stories, acting as a key bridge between the Platform team and other stakeholders.
• Facilitates continuous improvements to Platform performance (e.g., identifying opportunities to improve Platform service adoption and remedy recurring issues).
• Ensures security compliance and risk management across the entire Platform scope

To Succeed, you will need:

• Proven track record of managing a delivery team across the entire software delivery lifecycle
• Clear experience in technical requirements elicitation and requirement management techniques.
• Experience working with relevant Platform technologies, preferably in an architectural capacity (e.g., Mulesoft, Apigee, Azure Lakehouse).
• Team management experience; ability to develop and coach a multi-functional team.
• Able to manage internal & external Stakeholders pro-actively and with confidence
• Familiarity and experience operating within Agile frameworks and methodologies
• Knowledgeable about Platform performance measures and metrics, and how to act on this insight.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to satisfy technical user requirements, developing novel and impactful Platform solutions and services.
