Senior ABAP Developer

Your Role:
The Senior Developer develops customer-facing technology solutions that deliver direct value to Business users and/or end customers. They develop and/or configure technologies to meet business and technical requirements, whilst conforming to agreed technical standards and architectures. They ensure developed solutions are robust, maintainable, reusable, and highly scalable.
Main Responsibilities:
- Analyzes, develops, builds, tests, and reviews technical solutions using SAP-ABAP knowledge that meet business and technical requirements, contributing to the creation of valuable Product increments.
- Guides and supports Junior Developers with complex requirements, developments and/or issues.
- Collaborates with the wider Product team (e.g., Product Owner, Solution Architect, Functional) for understanding business requirements and contribute in designing technical solutions that are aligned with development best practices.
- Manages and resolves defects and escalated issues with Product technology solutions.
- Delivers high-quality and secure code that is compliant with relevant technical and security standards.
- Make use of relevant coding standards, best practices, optimization techniques and review processes during the development of any technical solution. Encourages and support other Junior members of the team to also follow the same.
- Actively identifies and resolves technical debt, in collaboration with the Product Owner and Solution Architect.
- Documents delivered technology solutions and services, supporting long-term service maintainability.
- Where possible, follows Agile methodologies and principles to efficiently design, develop, release, and iterate technical services (e.g., Kanban).
- Drives a culture of continuous improvement, focussed on enhancing Product stability and performance
To succeed, you will need:
- Having around 10+ years of working experience as an SAP ABAP consultant on ECC 6.0 environment.
- Functional understanding / working knowledge related to MM, FI-CO, SD, PP, QM modules. Predominantly development work will be related to FI module but as an experienced developer, should be able to pick up work from other modules as well.
- Experience of working on SAP Implementation, Rollout and Support projects.
- Working experience of e-Invoice solution is an added advantage.
- Provide technical support and assistance to Junior Developers as and when needed.
- Contribute in designing technical solutions during the Solution Design Workshops.
- Well versed with Coding Standards, Optimization techniques and Code Review processes.
- Hands-on experience of working on all the ABAP WRICEF objects.
- Understanding of OO-ABAP concepts.
- Working knowledge in classical, interactive and ALV reports.
- Enhancement techniques using BADI’s, user exits and BTE’s.
- Data migration techniques using LSMW/BDC.
- Proficiency in Module Pool programs and screen developments.
- Experience on Interfaces with files, ALE/IDOC, BAPI/RFC, FTP, APIs. Experience of interfacing with other SAP systems as well as integration with external systems.
- Experience of working on SAP Scripts, Smart forms and ADOBE forms.
- Worked on application of OSS notes.
- Excellent debugging skills.
- Understanding of Agile Concepts and Jira is an added advantage.
