Your role

 

A Senior Production Planning Engineer is responsible for designing, planning, coordinating, and improving the end-to-end supply chain to ensure materials, information, and products flow efficiently from suppliers to customers. In a project-based manufacturing organization (such as engineered packages), the role bridges Engineering, Sourcing, Planning, Production, Logistics, and Project Management. Ensure timely availability of materials, optimize inventory and logistics, improve supplier performance, reduce supply chain costs, and support successful project execution while maintaining quality and customer commitments.

Production Planning & Material Availability

  • Prepare Monthly, quarterly production plan based on Order in and hand and first promise date 
  • Plan material requirements based on production and project schedules.
  • Monitor shortages and expedite critical components.
  • Maintain accurate material availability reports.
  • Coordinate with planning, sourcing, and production teams.

2. Supplier Coordination

  • Follow up with suppliers for on-time deliveries.
  • Track supplier commitments and delays.
  • Support supplier performance improvement initiatives.
  • Escalate risks affecting project schedules.

3. Inventory Management

  • Optimize inventory levels.
  • Monitor safety stock, reorder levels, and excess inventory.
  • Reduce slow-moving and obsolete stock.
  • Support ABC inventory analysis.

4. Logistics Management

  • Coordinate inbound and outbound logistics.
  • Monitor transportation schedules.
  • Ensure export/import documentation is complete.
  • Optimize freight costs.

5. Production Support

  • Ensure kits are complete before production starts.
  • Coordinate shortages with production planning.
  • Track material readiness for assembly.
  • Support daily production review meetings.

6. Project Supply Chain Coordination

  • Support Operation& Project Managers on material status.
  • Maintain project-wise material dashboards.
  • Highlight risks affecting project milestones.
  • Coordinate intercompany procurement.

7. ERP & Master Data

  • Maintain ERP master data accuracy for production.
  • Ensure BOM and material master correctness.
  • Release intercompany, RC components and Non core production consumables purchase orders.
  • Support system improvements.

8. Performance Monitoring

Develop and monitor KPIs such as:

  • On-Time Material Availability
  • Supplier OTD
  • Inventory Turnover
  • Inventory Accuracy
  • Material Shortages
  • Freight Cost
  • Procurement Lead Time
  • Project Material Readiness

9. Process Improvement

  • Standardize supply chain processes.
  • Improve planning accuracy.
  • Implement lean practices.
  • Reduce waste in logistics and inventory.
  • Drive automation and digital dashboards.

10. Risk Management

  • Identify supply risks early.
  • Develop alternate suppliers.
  • Maintain contingency plans for critical components.
  • Monitor geopolitical and logistics risks.

To succeed, you will need

  • Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Engineering (Mechanical/Electrical/Chemical)
  • 5~10+ years of experience in project management, engineering execution, or related disciplines within industrial or engineered‑to‑order environments.
  • Proven expertise in managing complex rotating equipment and process package projects.
  • Strong experience working with leading EPC / LSTK contractors and major end users such as EIL, Reliance, Technip, tKIS, Tecnimont, Toyo, and similar global engineering organizations.
  • Hands-on knowledge of project planning tools and extensive experience working with ERP/SAP systems for project execution and reporting.
  • Exceptional coordination, communication, and stakeholder management skills with the ability to collaborate across functions and levels.
  • Demonstrated capability to manage multiple concurrent projects in a fast-paced, dynamic work environment.
  • Strong problem-solving approach, with a continuous improvement mindset and the ability to identify and implement process enhancements.
