Your Role

As the Server Hosting & Cloud Specialist, you will play an integral role in driving the digital transformation initiatives for the EMEA region at Atlas Copco. Positioned within our dynamic Global IT Hub based in Pune, India, your focus will be on building and maintaining secure, scalable cloud and server infrastructures that enable robust business continuity and operational excellence.

Your responsibilities include working collaboratively with diverse technical teams, including End User Computing and Network Operations, to ensure seamless integration and compliance across hosting platforms. A key aspect is orchestrating IT infrastructure harmonization during mergers and acquisitions, leveraging your deep expertise in cloud technologies, especially Microsoft Azure, to unify and optimize hosting environments.

In this role, you will architect resilient server solutions, manage deployments with partners like Kyndryl and Atos, and oversee performance tuning to support evolving business requirements. Your leadership will extend to mentoring local IT teams, equipping them with the necessary skills and knowledge to independently manage complex hosting setups while fostering a culture of innovation and operational excellence.

You will serve as a critical escalation point for technical challenges, swiftly addressing issues to minimize disruption and maximize system availability. A key initiative will be driving cloud migration strategies that transition legacy infrastructures to modern, cloud-first architectures focused on agility, enhanced security, and cost-optimization.

Core Technologies and Competencies

• In-depth, practical experience working within Microsoft Azure ecosystems, including configuring Azure Files and implementing Azure File Sync to support distributed environments.
• Advanced proficiency in administering Windows Server and Linux operating systems to maintain robust and secure hosting platforms.
• Operational expertise with virtualization technologies, particularly VMware vCenter, facilitating effective resource management and system scalability.
• Knowledgeable with enterprise-grade hardware infrastructure from established vendors such as Dell and HP, including integrated storage solutions.
• Hands-on experience with backup and disaster recovery tools, specifically Veeam, ensuring data integrity and swift recovery capabilities.
• Strong scripting skills with PowerShell to automate operational workflows, improve efficiency, and reduce manual intervention.
• Experience deploying and managing security applications like Bitlocker encryption and Microsoft Defender Antivirus to uphold organizational security policies.
• Competent in managing both Active Directory and Azure Active Directory services, administering user access, and enforcing governance protocols.
• A solid grasp of fundamental networking principles, including IP management, routing protocols, firewall configurations, and network security measures.

• A bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Administration, or a closely related field that equips you with a strong foundational understanding.
• Between 6 to 10 years of progressive IT experience focusing on cloud infrastructure, server hosting, and IT operations management.
• A demonstrated passion for technological innovation, especially relating to cloud-native platforms and network systems.
• Excellent communication skills in English, both written and spoken, enabling smooth collaboration with global team members and stakeholders.
• ITIL certification or equivalent, reflecting your knowledge of IT service management frameworks and best practices.
• Additional technical certifications in Microsoft Azure, VMware, networking, or security will provide a competitive advantage and broaden your expertise.
