Your Role:

The Systems Integration Engineer designs, develops, and maintains scalable integrations between enterprise systems (primarily SAP ECC) and advanced digital platforms, enabling reliable data access for AI-driven use cases and backend smart solutions.
The role ensures data connectivity is secure, standardized, and aligned with enterprise architecture.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement system integrations between ERP platforms (primarily SAP ECC) and downstream applications, enabling seamless and reliable data exchange for business and AI solutions.
  • Develop and maintain data access layers and interfaces (e.g., APIs, middleware, data services), ensuring high availability, scalability, and performance of integrated systems.
  • Enable AI and automation use cases by structuring and exposing ERP data in a usable and governed manner for advanced analytics and intelligent platforms.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (e.g., Product Owners, Solution Architects, Data Engineers, Automation teams) to translate business and technical requirements into integration solutions aligned with enterprise architecture.
  • Ensure data integrity, security, and compliance across integrations, adhering to internal standards, data governance frameworks, and IT security policies.
  • Manage and resolve integration incidents and defects, proactively monitoring interfaces and ensuring continuity of critical data flows.
  • Document integration solutions and data models, supporting maintainability, knowledge transfer, and audit readiness.
  • Drive continuous improvement of integration frameworks, identifying opportunities to standardize, automate, and optimize data connectivity across systems.

 

To Suceed you will need:

  • Education level
    • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
  • Relevant Previous experience (minimum years of experience to competently carry out the role, not total year of experience)
    • Proven experience in system integration, middleware, or backend development (typically 3–6+ years)
    • Hands-on experience integrating ERP systems, preferably SAP ECC / SAP S/4HANA
  • Knowledge areas/Skills (minimum level of knowledge to fullfil the role’s responsibilities)
    • Strong understanding of data integration concepts (APIs, ETL, middleware, event-driven architecture)
    • Experience with SAP integration technologies (e.g., ABAP interfaces, IDocs, RFCs, OData, BAPIs)
    • Knowledge of integration platforms/tools (e.g., SAP PI/PO, SAP BTP, MuleSoft, Azure Integration Services)
    • Familiarity with data structures, databases, and data modelling
    • Programming/scripting experience (e.g., Python, Java, SQL)
  • Other requirements (e.g. Language skills; competencies; expected travel requirements)
    • Strong problem-solving and analytical mindset
    • Ability to collaborate across business and IT teams globally
    • Fluent in English
    • Understanding of data governance, security, and compliance principles
    • Experience supporting AI/analytics use cases through structured data provisioning is a strong advantage
    • Experience working in Agile environments.
