Your role
Purpose / Mission
As Team Leader - Product Management, you will lead GECIA's Continuous Product Improvement (CPI) team, focusing on engineering-driven product enhancements, process innovation, and solutions. Your responsibilities include developing team skills, ensuring timely, high-quality delivery, and resolving issues to meet project targets within GECIA's standards.
About Team
Continuous Product Improvement Group (CPI) team within GECIA focus on continuously improving products within Atlas Copco group through Value engineering. For example, & not limited to:
Monitor trends and process variations to support continuous improvement.Drive service improvements across divisions using process methodologies and innovative ideas.Contribute to product upgrades, enhancements, and value engineering projects such as cost or weight reduction.Track clear Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
Key Responsibilities
Customer Focus
Timely execution of product processes across all business areas.Create and update dashboards and KPIs to track quality, delivery, and costs.Support improvements in Product Life Cycle Management.Communicate GECIA’s role in product processes at customer meetings.Obtain customer approvals as needed.
People Focus
Build subject matter experts to position GECIA as a competence center.Form teams using the Skills & Competence matrix.Foster teamwork focused on customer success and business improvement.Encourage a proactive, positive mindset.Support team members in finding their purpose.
Technology Focus
Drive the innovation culture in the team to nurture innovative ideas and focus improvements on the product processes.
Process Focus
Create, Develop & maintain the Knowledge management Portals, Databases, etc. to document the knowledge about Product, Process, People & Tool.Continuous Process improvement using Automation, Standardization, Innovation, Digitalization, Efficiency Improvement Projects etc.
Operational Excellence
Establish and manage a resource planning system for optimal utilization."First time right" is a key KPI for this position.Apply activity-based costing for the best mix of GECIA and partner resources.Make resource planning transparent to show occupancy and spot bottlenecks.Propose automation projects to streamline repeat tasks and enhance quality.
To succeed, you will need
Experience Requirement:
7–10 years’ experience in Mechanical Engineering or similar design fieldProven people management skills with ability to lead large, diverse teamsStrong track record in resolving operational issuesEssential hands-on experience with product development processes
Knowledge Requirement:
In-depth knowledge of business processes and related applicationsExpertise in PLM, ECM, and Product Sustenance EngineeringExperienced in cross-functional technical support for divisional projectsPreferred familiarity with Atlas Copco systems and productsSkilled in PLM/PDM tools like BPCS, Enovia, Windchill, SAPUnderstanding of 5S, 8D Problem Solving, VA/VE, Lean Design, and Design Thinking is advantageous
Key Skills:
Strong leadership and people management skills.Driven, dynamic, and focused on customer results.Excellent at planning, analysis, and problem-solving.Experience with automation tools like RPA and CAD.Basic knowledge of AI and Data Analytics.Effective team management under modern talent systems.
