Your Role
 

 With an objective to focus and strengthen the Instrumentation competence, we are looking for dynamic, result-oriented Technical Leader. The candidate will be responsible for leading the Control & Instrumentation competence domain, which includes various types of instrumentation, testing, and validation. The ideal candidate should have a strong focus on customer requirements and be capable of designing E&I systems for compressors, pumps, dryers, and other equipment in accordance with customer specifications, accepted QA procedures, and standards.

Mission -
    Your mission is to develop a competent team focused on electrical switchgears, instrumentation and control systems according to customer specifications with futuristic demands in Atlas Copco Gecia. You will guide and develop a strong team to support product development for various divisions and product companies within Atlas Copco, ensuring high design standards for each delivered product. Additionally, you will foster collaboration with universities and colleges on competence development topics. You will lead complex and special projects, contributing your subject expertise and providing guidance to team members to develop innovative products. Achieve this by sharing knowledge, mentoring, coaching team members, leading complex projects, and exploring technological advancements with innovative ideas. You stay updated on the latest developments in Electrical, Instrumentation, and Control technologies, continually identifying opportunities to enhance product cycles through efficiency improvement initiatives.

Responsibilities –

Technology Development

• Encourage a culture of innovation within the team to generate & develop new ideas and focus on improving products, processes, performance, and techno-commercial efficiency, while staying updated on the latest advancements in control and instrumentation technologies.
• Introduce and integrate new tools, techniques, and AI-based solutions to improve the efficiency, accuracy, and quality of technical documentation.
• Lead the implementation of automation projects and other technological improvements

Competence Development & Lead complex projects

• Mentor and coach team members to improve their technical skills, subject matter expertise, and understanding of complex concepts.
• Identify and facilitate training opportunities and technical workshops to enhance team competency.
• Develop and implement a technical competency framework to ensure continuous improvement and skill development.
• Analyze customer needs and propose new competencies, while also identifying and driving efficiency improvement projects in project execution and reporting.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to set clear technical guidelines and standards for deliverable documentation, ensuring consistency and adherence to best practices.

Stakeholder Collaboration  

• Lead complex projects to ensure they are delivered correctly and with high quality, formulating appropriate modelling strategies and conducting technical reviews.
• Effectively communicate project status updates, technical challenges, and solutions to relevant stakeholders.
• Foster a collaborative environment by building strong relationships with stakeholders and working together to meet expectations.

Strategic Vision & Collaboration with team leaders

• Lead skill development initiatives, conduct training sessions on new portfolios, and assist in preparing team members for future challenges and opportunities.
• Participate in strategic planning meetings to align the documentation team’s objectives with organizational goals and contribute to projects like Skill Matrix development, Competency Maturity Model (CMM) implementation, and Efficiency Improvement initiatives.
• Support the Team Leader for developing team competency, monitoring progress, and fostering a high-performing team environment.

Software skill requirement:

       Must be proficient in

• Office 365
• AutoCAD, AutoCAD Electrical, Eplan
• MATLAB/Simulink/LabVIEW

       Having good knowledge of the following 

• ERP Software’s, Inventor,
• Different types of P&ID software’s, Hands on with Instrumentation setups & protocols
• Basic understanding of PLC & programming Software’s (Siemens TIA, AB RSLogix)

 To succeed, you will need

• Educational requirements

  A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, with a focus on Motors and Inverters/Starters, alongside a minimum of 12+ years of relevant design experience.

   

  Knowledge/Experience requirements

• Expertise in designing and estimation of switchgear, control & instrumentation systems for prime movers in safe & hazardous areas for varies gas applications like Air, Nitrogen, natural gas, Biogas. Skid packaging experience will be an added advantage.
• Pre/Post-bid proposal support including floating of enquiries, techno-commercial comparisons for E&I bill of materials.
• Experienced in preparing P&ID diagrams, specifications for instrument/Cables/JB’s and performing instrument selection & sizing calculations. Skilled in developing control narratives, cause & effect diagrams, alarm trip lists, and control system specifications. Proficiency in SPI Intools and approval processes is an added advantage.

• Good command of spoken and written English suitable for a global environment.
• Programming skills and experience in PLC, microcontrollers, logic development is an added advantage.
