Your role

Bring your curiosity to work as our next Technical Manger-SIA. You will be part of our XXX team reporting to [Hiring manager title]. Champion engineering integration and collaboration activities across Semiconductor Division and where appropriate the Vacuum Technique Business Area. Create new innovative, market leading products and systems with high customer value to support profitable growth while efficiently maintaining and supporting existing products for product company Qingdao. Support the company’s overall targets and manage engineering related activity.

Short Description

  • Strengthen the engineering organization through effective staff recruitment, retention, objective setting, competency, and people development. Coach and develop the team to maximize its full performance. Oversee the knowledge and skill matrix of your team and actively steer training programs to close gaps and increase effectiveness, including but not limited to technical skills, product knowledge, communication, finance and cost calculation, relevant digital tools and constructive behavior. Continuously increase the maturity of your team and secure flexibility and agility.
  • Offer structured, professional and timely day-to-day level 4 technical support to the Customer Center. Support our CCs to solve quality problems by making relevant and traceable information available.

Your day-to-day

  • NPI/A&D/ETO Programmes: Responsible for the high-level product technical concept definition, planning, execution and timely delivery of best in class new and derivative products.
    • On specification, on time, on budget, to product targets
    • In full compliance with legislative, company & industrial standards
    • With operational, service & support requirements fully met
    • In compliance with end-to-end NPI Process
    • Aligned to agreed product roadmaps and customer order schedules
    • Drive monthly PCM
  • Offer structured, professional and timely day-to-day technical support to the Product Company. Support operation output and sourcing China for China localization strategy on time, on cost, on quality.
  • Analyze, report and actively improve our product design quality via effective and consistent measurement and follow-up of warranty reporting. Release service information bulletin (SIB).
  • Pro-actively visit Customers and CCs looking for design quality and serviceability improvements, focusing on increasing customer experience and creating value for Atlas Copco Group.
  • Ensure product portfolio continuously meets legislative, industrial and corporate standards through design, safety review and certification processes. Act as delegated signatory for key technical authority documentation.
  • As a team leader, live according to and consistently promote the behaviors associated with the 5 competences of Atlas Copco’s talent framework, within your own team and towards your colleagues and superiors.
  • Ensures that all areas under direct control, particularly yourself and your teams’ activities in the lab, are conducted and work in a safe and effective manner in compliance with all applicable laws and regulations related to labor, safety, health, environment and energy.

  • Education level:Bachelor degree in engineering or science. Master is a plus.

  • Relevant previous experience:

    • 5+ years engineering experience and 3+ years engineering leadership experience level including of new product development, product management, technical support and aftermarket support activities.

    • Technical knowledge of vacuum pumps, systemised products and their applications in the market place, such as Diffusion, PVD, Etch, CVD.

    • Technical knowledge relating to rotating machinery and/or roots vacuum pumps (mechanical boosters) technology and/or electrical knowledge is beneficial.

    • Practical experience of relevant experimental techniques and reliability testing.

    • Good understanding of most technologies essential to the design, development and support of the section’s products and the key performance parameters necessary to meet the market requirements.

    • Good understanding of engineering change control processes. Knowledge of a wide range of regulations, standards and legislative requirements such as SEMI S2, CE, NRTL...

    • A proven ability to manage projects and activities, delivering on time, to specification with strict quality and cost targets (project and product costs)
  • Other skills and knowledge: 
    • Able to communicate internally and externally as a technical authority and represent the customers viewpoint to the factory operations.
    • Ability to manage and motivate team members to achieve targets.
    • Shows a thorough understanding of the process of product support engineering as well as design and development and has highly developed problem-solving skills.
    • Management skills necessary to build a team of highly trained and motivated engineering staff.
