Product Engineer (w/m/d)
CVS engineering GmbH manufactures compressors and vacuum pumps specifically designed for mobile applications (primarily in trucks, railways, and buses).

Your role
As a Product Engineer (w/m/d), your mission is to drive the development and continuous improvement of high-performance vacuum pumps and compressors by combining engineering expertise, innovation, and customer focus. This role ensures that products meet technical, quality, and market requirements throughout their lifecycle, contributing to the company’s technological leadership and customer satisfaction.
You will report to the Engineering Manager.
- Design, develop, and optimize vacuum pumps and compressors to meet product requirements and ensure compliance with standards and legal requirements.
- Contribute to development projects from concept phase to serial production, collaborating closely with project managers and cross-functional teams.
- Assist in tracking project timelines, budgets, and deliverables through regular reporting and active involvement in project coordination.
- Support existing products through continuous improvement initiatives.
- Analyze field data and customer feedback to identify and resolve product related issues.
- Manage engineering changes and documentation throughout the product lifecycle.
- Provide technical support to customers and other departments inside the company.
- Contribute to the development of best practices, processes, and engineering guidelines.
- Be the company’s point of contact for electro-mechanical topics and share technical knowledge across the teams.

Technical Skills
- Profound knowledge in Electro-mechanical engineering and rotating machinery.
- Experience in the design and development of vacuum pumps, compressors, or similar mechanical systems.
- Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., Autodesk) and ascending PDM/PLM systems.
- Familiarity with simulation tools (e.g., FEM) for structural analysis.
- Understanding manufacturing processes such as casting, machining, and assembly.
- Knowledge of relevant standards and regulations (e.g., ISO, CE, RoHS).
Soft Skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Effective communication skills for cross-functional collaboration and customer interaction.
- Project management capabilities, including planning, coordination, and reporting.
- Proactive mindset with a focus on continuous improvement and innovation.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Experience
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in electro-mechanical engineering or related field.
- 3–5 years of experience in product development, preferably in the field of vacuum technology or compressors.
- Experience with product lifecycle management and industrialization processes.
- Exposure to international projects and multicultural teams is a plus.
Languages
Fluent in German and English (written and spoken).

Job location
This role requires you to work mainly on-site at our office in Rheinfelden, Germany but also offers a hybrid working arrangement, allowing you to split your time between working remotely and being on-site. You will be part of a dynamic team and enjoy the benefits of face-to-face collaboration.
