We are looking for a Supplier Quality Assurance Engineer who will bring expertise and passion to drive Supplier Quality to the next level, improving our overall Quality performances.
What does the job of Supplier Quality Assurance Engineer look like?
In our PC at Robassomero, in the Supplier & Incoming Goods Quality Team, directly reporting to Supplier Quality Team Leader, the SQA Engineer drives suppliers to improve their deliverables and to develop a quality-focused approach in the daily business, being the person in the Company who knows Supplier process strengths and weaknesses.
In collaboration with the Sourcing, Operations and Engineering Teams, the Supplier & Incoming Goods Quality Team ensures the purchased goods are supplied according to the Quality expectations and that all Suppliers are acting in agreement with the Company standards and specific requirements.
By cooperating with colleagues and external Business Partners you will take care of your own commodities, following up on Suppliers’ new parts qualification readiness related to advance project and prompt action and resolution related to non-conformities that might occur on current applications.
Excellent relational and communication skills are essential for the interaction with both external and internal stakeholders, together with a proactive and accountable approach.

Strong oral and written communication skills are also very important.
You also have:
- A master’s degree in Engineering.
- Experience in Operations (Manufacturing, Quality) and/or Engineering.
- Sound understanding of process-product links and cause-effect relationship.
- Knowledge of metrology fundamentals as well as ability in reading and understanding technical documentation (drawings and/or specifications) is a must.
- Experience in using industrial quality procedures and tools (ISO, PPAP, Auditing, Corrective and Preventive Action planning, FMEA Analysis, Production Control Plans, Measurement System Analysis, SPC, Control Documents, Process Capability, etc.).
- Good command of Microsoft Office basic tools, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams.
- Experience working with MRP systems such as AS400, BPCS is a plus.
- Knowledge of specific Office365 tools such as SharePoint, PowerBI, PowerAutomate, Project is a plus
- Fluency in Italian is a must, English language knowledge is a strong plus.
What will you deal with in this role?
- Audit and monitor processes of existing Suppliers and perform System Audits to determine potential supplier eligibility.
- Supervise assigned supplier KPIs related to quality, driving appropriate corrective actions, preserve and improve supplier performances, according to Atlas Copco goals.
- Actively participate to the Project Team Meetings and follow up on related parts qualification readiness (internal and external) also supporting and joining the Technical Review meetings to tackle part design critical specs and Control Plan, until the Start Of Production of related components.
- When needed, track and follow up the Tooling kick-off activities and follow the analysis and realization at supplier side (in line with project timing).
- Support identification of component and process weakness points and suggest preventive actions to avoid/reduce issue occurrence, especially during the development phase of new products.
- Participate to component inspections on the initial samples: indexing and gathering applicable documentation, follow up on the internal parts qualification process together with the Quality of Incoming Goods (QIG) and colleagues from other departments until the final approval.
- In cooperation with QIG and Production colleagues, promptly prepare and notify non-conformity reports to suppliers; promoting, supporting and following up root cause analysis and related countermeasures; follow up on Permanent Corrective Actions installation at Supplier and activating inspection process in accordance to Atlas Copco Zero Defect Strategy as evidence of issue resolution.
- Support suppliers and Aftermarket Team in defining technical solutions to fix supplier quality related issues in field.
- Promote supplier development, spread the knowledge and encouraging use of the main quality tools (SPC, 8D approach, PPAP methodology, etc..), risk-based and issue prevention criteria (FMEA, robust process design).
- Work and cooperate with Sourcing Team, gathering and sharing relevant information about the supplier performances and taking part in the definition of the strategies regarding each of them.
- Support the Purchasing Team and the Supplier Quality Team Leader in scouting new suppliers globally.
- Support the Engineering Team in the definition and implementation of test plans for the part approval process related to the assigned commodities.
