Your Role

Mission:
Develop and strengthen our distributor base by streamlining our systems and onboarding processes in
accordance with Atlas Copco standards, while always striving to understand the needs and expectations of
customers. Review and develop internal processes and tools for efficiency. Prepare related business
development reports and conduct/present relevant market analysis.
Role and Responsibilities:

  • Develop and streamline the bi-annual review of all distributors across the U.S.
  • Ensure targets are logged and reported to sales managers and principals.
  • Launch a Distributor Rewards loyalty Program.
  • Ensure distributors are quoting our products appropriately, by creating online quoting tools.
  • Ensure our regional distributors are meeting or exceeding our quality expectations. Develop a process to determine that the sales managers are following up with the targets and actions for each distributor.
  • Identify new potential distributors by utilizing industry and segment knowledge.
  • Contribute to the identification of potential acquisitions.
  • Serve as the primary contact for ACIDA and the ACIDA meetings.
  • Produce a functional distributor co-op program.
  • Manage access to our online distributor tools and portals.
  • Review business development strategies on a regular basis and recommend modifications and enhancements that will secure distributor goals in line with growth targets.
  • Maintain effective lines of communication with the relevant Business Line Manager, Regional Vice Presidents, regional Direct Sales Representatives, Technical and Service departments.
  • Prepare reports that show market trends, business development results, competitor activity, sales forecasts and prospective activity.
  • Continuously pursue knowledge and understanding of economic trends and news that may affect the compressed air business. Report such activity to the Business Line Managers, Regional Vice Presidents and regional Sales Representatives.
  • Through training and development, remain current in the product knowledge and sales/marketing skills necessary to be effective in the position.
  • Contribute to positive Company branding by projecting a knowledgeable, professional, and customer-oriented image to customers.
  • Perform all duties in accordance with Atlas Copco standards, while always striving to understand the needs and expectations of the customer.
  • Take whatever action is appropriate and required to get the job done and to establish and maintain communications with all people/employees considered necessary to get the job done.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Supervisory Responsibility:

  • One direct report.

 
To succeed, you will need  

Experience:
Five years of sales management experience, including field sales and territory management. Industrial sales
Experience is a plus.
Education:
Bachelor’s (4-year) Degree in Business, Engineering, or other technical area, and/or equivalent training and
education.
Skills:
Must be a proven leader who is able to work independently and has excellent organizational, interpersonal,
verbal and written communication skills. Must be proficient in Microsoft Office, including Word and Excel,
as well as in SAP Cloud 4 Customer. Some travel is required. Must have a valid driver’s license.
Travel:
Up to 25% local travel and some overnight travel.
