Applications Engineer for High Purity & Cryogenic Products
Your Role
BeaconMedaes, located in Rock Hill, South Carolina is a seeking a qualified Applications Engineer for high purity & cryogenic products. The Applications Engineer for high purity and cryogenic products will oversee engineered-to-order products for the US laboratory market. The product line mainly consists of containerized source equipment, high purity pipeline products, and cryogenic source/pipeline.
As an Applications Engineer dedicated to the Laboratory team, you will be responsible for sales support, project discovery, product design, and product integration assistance. This is a customer-facing role which requires in-person and virtual teams meetings with end customers and consulting engineers, in addition to BeaconMedaes internal teams and manufacturer representatives. It is expected that you will collaborate closely with the Lead Applications Engineer, Business Development Manager, and the laboratory Project Management team. This role is based in Rock Hill, SC and reports to the Business Development Manager for laboratory products. US based travel will be required but this is limited, up to 20% maximum.
Strategic and tactical responsibilities include the following:
Technical aspects of made-to-order/ETO systems including:
• Discovery during project design phase
• Specification review and sales support during quotation at bid stage
• Oversight of submittals and construction drawings post-contract
• Interaction with both the BeaconMedaes sales team and clients is required.
Engineered-to-order (ETO) systems shall generally fall within these product groups:
• Gas cabinets and gas detection systems
• Cryogenic piping systems and sources
• High purity gas equipment with a high degree of customization
Required deliverables shall include, but not be limited to:
• Creation of design documents, including drawings and guide specs.
• Integrate design documents into the project plans and specifications
• Responsible for the creations of submittal information.
• Creation and control of startup and commissioning guides.
• Providing technical data required by Project Management team for quotation purposes.
• Continued education of BeaconMedaes salesforce (including manufacturer representatives) regarding applications.
• Generation of application specific guidebooks and white papers for internal and external consumption.
• Attend product review committee meetings for ETO systems and standard products.
• Transfer knowledge to tech support and “train the trainers.”
• Become proficient with BeaconMedaes QA procedures, including ISO qualification requirements.
Perform other duties as assigned.
To succeed, you will need
Experience
- 2+ years of piped engineered systems application experience
- Proficiency with design software such as Inventor, CAD, and/or REVIT.
- While not a strict requirement, application experience in the area of high purity piped gas systems and/or cryogenic piped systems is a plus
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent

- Proven technical and design skills
- Dynamic professional with a positive attitude and exceptional interpersonal skills, able to work independently as well as serve a committed team player
- Excellent communication, both written and verbal, along with presentation skills are a must
- Trustworthy, honest, and reliable
- Should have an innovative mindset with a strong drive to create customer value
- Results driven self-starter

- Strong command of English is a requirement
