Field Service Technician

Your role
As a Field Service Technician, your mission is to provide unparalleled field service support to both internal and external customers with a focus on professionalism, time management, and profitability. You will report to the Service Center Manager that oversees the Rock Hill, SC service center.
You will
- Perform onsite installation, commissioning, maintenance, and repair of generators, diesel and electric air compressors, and pumping systems
- Diagnosing and troubleshooting mechanical, electrical, engine, and control system issues
- Perform preventative maintenance and inspections in accordance with service schedules and OEM guidelines
- Configure, test, and troubleshoot control systems and instrumentation
- Complete service reports, inspection records, and documentation accurately and timely
- Follow established safety procedures, lockout/tagout requirements, and environmental regulations
- Coordinate with technical support and parts teams to resolve complex issues
- Support equipment commissioning, load testing, and performance verification
- Identify potential equipment issues and recommend corrective or preventative actions
- Represent the organization professionally while working on customer sites
- Promote and practice proper safety procedures and the correct use of personal protective equipment at all times
- Perform other duties as assigned

You have at least 3 years of field service experience supporting generators, compressors, or pumping systems and a technical diploma, or equivalent hands-on experience in diesel, electrical, or industrial equipment service.
Job Skills:
- Strong working knowledge of diesel engines, electrical motors, and industrial mechanical systems
- Experience troubleshooting electrical systems, including controls, sensors, and wiring
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, electrical schematics, and service documentation
- Proficiency using diagnostic tools, meters, and service software
- Valid driver's license and ability to travel to customer sites
- Experience servicing industrial generators and power generation equipment
- Familiarity with diesel and electric air compressors
- Experience with centrifugal or positive displacement pumps
- Exposure to generator control systems (eg., DEIF, ComAP, Deep Sea, Woodward)
- Experience with load banks, commissioning, or startup support
- OEM or dealer service experience
- Hands-on troubleshooting and problem-solving
- Strong safety awareness and procedural compliance
- Time management and job prioritization
- Clear communication and documentation skills
- Ability to work independently in field environments

Job location
When not assigned to field work, this role will report into the Rock Hill, SC service center. Expected travel during the first 1-3 months is approximately 20-40%, increasing to around 80% for field assignments.
