Your role

As a Product Marketing Manager, you will develop the business for the assigned product range in the North American territory, which includes the United States and Canada.

 

You will work with our regional sales managers and business development managers, our customers, our product company, and our national account managers to see where our best opportunities are for growth.  You will also actively pursue new dedicated dealers and specialty channels.

 

You will work closely with the divisional marketing and the factory in identifying future product requirements.  

 

You will report to the Vice President/Business Line Manager in our US Customer Center.  You will have access to all the support staff of the customer center in terms of logistics, material handling, marketing and communications, etc.

 

Business Development (Estimated @ 60% of time)

  • In consultation with the BLM, provide ownership for the “go to market” strategy for these products, as well as researching, setting up, and managing a dealer network and channels to market.
  • Support direct sales in Dealer setups for key accounts/OEMs.
  • Build market position and achieve sustainable financial growth by locating, developing, defining, negotiating and closing business relationships.
  • Visit customer’s sites to provide technical expertise and to aid in setup and commissioning of products in the assigned brands and ranges.
  • Plan and provide oversight for new market initiatives.
  • Maintain extensive knowledge of current market conditions.
  • Develop and promote new and existing products and product lines, with a focus on portable single stage compressors.
  • Identify opportunities by researching industry publications, announcements & events relating to the portfolio of products.
  • Handle objections by clarifying, emphasizing agreements and working through differences to secure a positive conclusion.

 

  

Product & Brand Management (Estimated @ 30% of time) (for Atlas Copco Range of Products)

  • Prepare presentations and sales displays for customers and internal sales force, in order maintain and grow existing accounts.
  • Develop training plans to educate and motivate employees to perform at their most profitable level.
  • Provide marketing support for the Sales Team to maximize both market and customer share with a focus on the development of key accounts and dealers.
  • Support profitable growth in line with company targets.
  • Establish sales processes and methods for new products through development / integration stages.
  • Conduct training of the sales team, and dealers, in the process of selling new products and provide support wherever required in the sales of these products.
  • Working closely with BLM, introduce and establish all available products to continue to grow our aftermarket sales through all business lines.
  • Ensure that all marketing materials are produced with a strong attention to detail, high quality and a strict adherence to Corporate Branding guidelines.
  • Take on additional tasks and/or ad-hoc projects as requested i.e.: market share reporting and competition analysis, etc.

 

Reporting (Estimated @ 10% of time)

  • Assist the BLMs in preparing divisional reporting presentations.
  • Conduct Market analysis and segmentation.
  • Analyze and report on market share.
  • Prepare monthly reports
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

 

Travel: Travel within USA and Canada is required (Estimated 50%) as well as the ability to travel internationally as required (Specifically; EU estimated at 5%).

To succeed, you will need

A college or university degree in business, engineering or similar or a combination of education and experience is required.

 

To be successful in this position you will need:

  • 5 years of sales and marketing experience in the portable industrial equipment market segment and/or the equivalent combination or education and experience.
  • Specific knowledge of and experience working in the U.S. portable industrial equipment business.
  • A solid understanding of the sales process of Atlas Copco portable industrial equipment products and their applications.
  • Proven experience in project management.

 

Desired Skills:

  • Excellent business analysis, planning and organizing skills.
  • Knowledge of the Power and Light product range.
  • Experienced in dealing with aftermarket products is considered an asset.
  • Proven business analysis and motivational presentation skills.
  • Previous experience of sales territory and channel management.
  • Previous experience with generators, battery energy storage systems and/or light towers
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Computer literate (SAP, C4C, Microsoft Office, etc.) and strong knowledge of Excel and PowerPoint would be an asset.
  • Positive attitude and willing to troubleshoot and problem solve any technical or commercial related product issues
  • Assertive, result orientated team player with strong interpersonal and communication skills. 
  • Travel within Canada and USA is required (Estimated 50-75%), as well as the ability to travel internationally as required (Specifically; EU).
  • Able to work unsupervised, independently and as part of a team.
  • Self-motivated and able to work under time constraints.

Job location

This role operates in a hybrid environment, allowing you to work from our Rock Hill facility at 1059 Paragon Way for four days a week while enjoying the flexibility to work remotely one day a week. Some travel (up to 15%) may be required to meet client needs and attend important meetings.
