Your role

As a Service Technician Apprentice, you will work in a shop environment performing routine preventive maintenance on portable industrial equipment including air compressors, generators, light towers, engines, pumps, and energy storage systems.

 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Perform routine preventive maintenance on portable industrial equipment including air compressors, generators, light towers, engines, pumps, and energy storage systems in accordance with manufacturer’s recommendations and under the direct supervision of a more highly qualified Service Technician.
  • Follow the company’s safety standards, including using the personal protective equipment (PPE) provided.
  • Perform work within expected timeframes and demonstrating first-time-right fixes.
  • Maintain your work utilization equal to or greater than 75% of the time.
  • Comply with the Safety, Health, Environmental and Quality (SHEQ) standards for the facility including, but not limited to, understanding and following the Atlas Copco Group SHEQ policy, working safely and wearing appropriate PPE, completing safety walks and quality checks, and maintaining facility compliance with environmental aspects.
  • Read, understand, and use technical documentation.
  • Record your hours worked on jobs daily.
  • Provide basic tools for the job and will maintain these tools in proper working order.
  • Participate in technical training activities aimed at improving your skills and competencies in equipment maintenance of portable industrial equipment.
  • Communicate with internal and external customers in a clear, positive, and collaborative way.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

To succeed, you will need

To be successful in this position, you will need a minimum of 6 months technical service experience performing routine preventative maintenance on portable industrial equipment with demonstrated quality outcomes.

 

 A High School Diploma or GED is required.

 

Qualifiers and Skills:

  • Strong mechanical and electrical skills.
  • Proficiency in using computer applications and business systems, including Outlook, Excel, and Word.
  • Ability to work independently and be a self-starter.
  • Excellent communication skills with a strong customer focus.
  • Willingness to grow within the business.
  • Must maintain a valid driver’s license.
