Your role

The mission of the Planner is to ensure the uninterrupted flow of materials through effective procurement, inventory control, supplier management, and transportation coordination. The role is responsible for achieving Just-in-Time (JIT) delivery targets, optimizing inventory levels, supporting cost reduction initiatives, and contributing to Supply Chain Management (SCM) excellence while ensuring operational efficiency, accuracy, and compliance with Atlas Copco standards and guidelines.

Objectives / Targets

  • Contribute to the SCM leadership project "Lead 2 Lean"

    • Delivery: 100% JIT for call-off suppliers and 95% for stock parts suppliers
    • Implement critical supplier escalation
    • Cost: Reduce stock to 20% COGS
    • Drive stock management via ILM and other systems in a good way
    • Use ILM (Inventory Lifecycle Management) for optimum PO management
  • Contribute to the SCM competence project "World Class"

    • Contribute to reducing the throughput time and customer lead-time
    • Reduce CIF rate through transport efficiency actions
    • Initiate cycle counts to ensure Physical vs. BPCS stock accuracy
    • Constant check on 12-month slow-moving and 24-month non-moving inventory
    • Minimize obsolescence for phase-in/phase-out project parts

Main Responsibilities

Material Procurement & Supplier Management

  • Procure material in a Just-in-Time flow, ensuring 0 production loss due to material shortages
  • Supplier interaction (PO transactions, supplier workload, chasing parts)
  • Release daily POs on time for required materials and monitor them through daily routines
  • IT transactions with accuracy, allowing inventory accuracy
  • Resolve document discrepancies with suppliers and warehouse
  • Chase vendor material shortages and visit suppliers whenever required
  • Ensure on-time delivery of parts for New Product Launches
  • Supplier performance monitoring and escalation management
  • Maintain a list of critical suppliers to watch and those requiring sourcing support

Inventory Management

  • Monitor inventory vs. COGS to maintain optimum inventory without stockouts
  • Control stock, non-moving, and obsolete items
  • Daily stock count and variance analysis
  • Analyze historical usage and inventory data to forecast future demand

Transport Management

  • Material on time and at the lowest transportation cost
  • Coordinate with transporters for milk-run supplies of local parts (TMS)
  • Coordinate companies for sea, air, and road transport, forwarders, and other external agencies to achieve a seamless flow of parts
  • Optimize transport routings for best transport resource utilization

Quality, Compliance & Risk Management

  • Respect IMS principles and AC Guidelines
  • Fulfill IMS (ISO 9001, ISO 14000 & OHSAS), legal, and internal requirements for the manufacturing function
  • Hazard identification and risk assessment for assembly lines and Supply Chain

To succeed, you will need

 

Experience / Educational Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, or Logistics.
  • 3+ years of supply chain experience with proven track record.
  • Exposure to international business environments and large companies.
  • Fluent in English.
  • Skilled in IT tools:
    • ERP (BPCS)
    • MES
    • MS Excel
    • MS Project
    • SharePoint
    • Power BI
