Collection Specialist

Your role
- Collect on customers’ accounts, both past due and proactive collections, by working and clearing UDM Worklist daily.
- Handle incoming calls and emails from customers regarding their invoices, including documenting the communication with the customer and responding appropriately.
- Notify the Credit Analyst, Sales, and RBC of any ongoing payment issues with a customer’s account.
- Recommend accounts for bad debt provision and/or third-party collections.
- Identify, research, and distribute disputed invoices. Coordinate with internal departments to ensure they are resolved.
- Research and resolve short and partial payments.
- Complete Online billing as required by customers.
- Submit and Process Credit Memos on Customer Accounts.
- Process Credit Card Payments.
- Back-up Credit Analyst as required.
- Contribute to positive Company branding by projecting a knowledgeable, professional, and customer-oriented image to customers.
- Perform all duties in accordance with Atlas Copco standards, while always striving to understand the needs and expectations of the customer.
- Take whatever action is appropriate and required to get the job done and to establish and maintain communications with all people/employees considered necessary to get the job done.
- Portfolio management of 400 – 700 active customers ranging $100-$1M at any given time.
- Use rigorous logic and methods to solve difficult problems. Must possess the ability to foresee, react, and offer solutions; probe for hidden information; analyze honestly and look beyond single solution answers.
- Sign off on conditional/unconditional lien releases.
- Perform other duties as assigned
To succeed, you will need
Experience – 3 years of directly relevant experience.
Education – Associates Degree in business or equivalent experience (5-6 years).
Skills – Must be an independent self-starter with a positive attitude. Must also be customer-service oriented, have excellent organizational, interpersonal, verbal and written communication, analytical, and decision-making skills. Must be proficient in Microsoft Office, including Word and Excel. Proficiency in SAP software applications is a plus.

Job location
This role offers a hybrid working arrangement, allowing you to split your time between working remotely and being on-site at our Rock hill, SC office.
