Job description 

The successfull Area Sales Manager calls on customers at job sites, business offices, and institutional account locations to identify and create rental service and sales opportunities. Calls on key account administrative and management personnel in offices to ensure customer satisfaction. Handles customer service issues in the field and negotiates rental contracts. Develops a thorough understanding of the market conditions (e.g. current customers, competitors, opportunities) for the assigned territory, develops and executes a strategy to achieve revenue goals. 

 

Main activities 

Promoting & supporting the sales of all aftermarket products and services within the assigned territory

Continuously building and strengthening strong, loyal relationships with our customers through remote virtual meetings and on-site visits to support new business opportunities and growth

Promptly responding to our customer requests and effectively arriving with the appropriate solutions

Taking responsibility over territory management by maintaining constant interaction with customers to improve overall relations, creating customer satisfaction and preventing escalations in the long run

Territories covered include: Wisconsin, Minnesota, Northern Illinois, and Indiana. 

 

Experience requirements 

Minimum of three years of industrial sales experience, with demonstrated successful sales experience in rental equipment or a related field preferred.

You are a self-starter and can work autonomously without relying on others, while at the same time are capable of collaborating well in teams

You have a strength in your interpersonal skills, can easily form relations with others and can effectively lead negotiations

You have 5+ years’ worth of experience in customer service, sales, or another similar field

You have technical knowledge of our products, technical education or equivalent knowledge gained from experience

You have intermediate to advanced skills using Microsoft Office, Excel and have basic experience using a form of CRM system

You have a valid driver’s license

 

Knowledge

Demonstrated selling and interpersonal communications skills, with excellent oral and written communication. Customer service orientation and ability. Able to work effectively as a team player, and to work independently with little supervision, using organizational and time management skills. Able to work with sales and budget forecasts; to apply effective selling practices and techniques; and to conduct productive cold calling and customer sourcing activities. Proven ability to develop and implement strategies to enhance customer and market share. Excellent human relations and oral/written presentation skills. Ability to present and sell to high level executives. Proven sales management skills. Knowledgeable on various computer software programs such as: Salesforce.com, Word, Excel, ACT and Powerpoint. 

 

Educational requirements 

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or other Technical field.

Able to read instructions, numbers and to write legibly in English. Competent in understanding and communicating product and technical information. Completes mandated safety training within 10 days of hire. Follows supervisor’s instructions and works amicably with co-workers
