Technical Project and Engineering Lead

Your Role
As a Technical Project and Engineering Lead, your mission is to own the planning, coordination, and execution of engineering-led projects by leveraging the expertise of cross-functional team members. Lead project activities from concept through implementation, ensuring effective communication, accountability, risk management, and achievement of technical, operational, and business goals across Quality, Technical Support, Data Management, Product Management, Marketing, and Procurement.
This position plays a key role in executing the strategic direction of the COR parts & service strategy, having a global impact on the results, profitable and sustainable products and environmental footprint. The Engineering Lead reports to the COR Business Manager. Direct collaboration with COR team (i.e. Product Management, Strategic Procurement, Sales) as well as with cross functional teams in the VTS division, CCs, acquisitions and other stakeholders will be essential to achieve success.
You will:
- Lead New Product Initiative (NPI) projects from concept through launch by coordinating cross-functional resources, defining technical requirements, managing project milestones, and ensuring alignment with business objectives, customer needs, and market opportunities.
- Manage engineering-led projects by establishing clear project plans, timelines, deliverables, resource requirements, and success metrics. Monitor progress, identify risks, drive corrective actions, and ensure projects are completed on time and within scope.
- Coordinate and influence cross-functional teams including Quality, Technical Support, Data Management, Product Management, Marketing, and Procurement to achieve project objectives and support strategic business initiatives.
- Drive the growth and continuous improvement of the COR Service Information Library (ex. SOPs, work instructions, service schedules, etc.), including the collection, analysis, and application of field feedback, service data, competitive insights, and product performance trends to support decision-making and product development activities.
- Maintain and expand the COR Technical Resource Library by creating and managing new product documentation, service procedures, technical bulletins, engineering standards, competitive intelligence, and best-practice knowledge assets to support internal teams and customers.
- Provide technical leadership and subject matter expertise for product-related issues, supporting root-cause investigations, corrective actions, product improvements, and customer satisfaction initiatives.
- Deliver product support and technical training programs for internal stakeholders, service personnel, sales teams, and other business functions. Develop training materials, conduct presentations, and ensure effective knowledge transfer of product features, applications, maintenance requirements, and competitive advantages.
- Support product lifecycle management activities, including product launches, enhancements, obsolescence planning, and continuous improvement initiatives to optimize product performance, reliability, and profitability.
- Collaborate with Product Management and Marketing to develop technical content, product positioning, value propositions, competitive analyses, and launch materials to support market growth objectives.
Required Tasks:
- Lead and execute new product development, product enhancement, and product lifecycle management projects.
- Develop and maintain project plans with defined scope, timelines, deliverables, risks, and accountability measures.
- Coordinate cross-functional project teams and drive alignment among technical and business stakeholders.
- Expand and maintain the competitor Service Intelligence and Technical Resource Library capabilities.
- Analyze product, service, field, and competitive data to identify improvement opportunities and support strategic decisions.
- Create and deliver technical training, product support presentations, and knowledge-sharing programs.
- Provide engineering leadership for technical problem solving, product investigations, and corrective action initiatives.
- Support product launches through documentation development, training, and cross-functional readiness activities.
- Develop and maintain technical documentation, procedures, standards, and knowledge management resources.
- Monitor project performance and communicate progress, risks, and recommendations to management and stakeholders.
To succeed, you will need
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering
• 5-7 years industrial experience, preferably with vacuum and vacuum pump service
• Knowledge of manufacturing processes used on vacuum pump internal parts or similar product.
• Experience in reverse engineering product
• Experience in bringing new products to market
• Experience in creating SOPs and work instructions
• Project management skills and ability to work independently
• Ability to interface with internal and external customers.
• Proficient in AutoCAD, Inventor, MS Project, MS Office, & SAP
• Knowledge of GD&T and common machining techniques
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Strong multi-tasking and teamwork skills, including working in remote teams
