Your role

You are a hands-on leader with a strong operational mindset who is looking to lead and improve material handling operations as a Material Handling Supervisor with a leading innovator and manufacturer of Turbo Expander technology.

 

The compensation (range) for this position is $112,960.00 to $141,200.00 annually depending on skill. The compensation package may also include incentive compensation opportunities in the form of discretionary annual bonus. What you will own & improve

1. Ownership of the end-to-end material flow across receiving, inventory control, kitting, and shipping—ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and alignment with production and customer delivery requirements

2. Lead daily warehouse operations, ensuring materials are received, stored, staged, and delivered to production on time and in the right condition

3. Build and improve inventory accuracy and control processes, including cycle counting, transaction integrity, and scrap management within ERP systems (SAP)

4. Drive lean initiatives (5S, workflow optimization, space utilization) to improve throughput, reduce waste, and increase safety

5. Ensure shipping and logistics execution, including export packaging, vendor shipments, and compliance with customer and regulatory requirements

6. Develop and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) and ensure team adherence through training and accountability

7. Lead cross-functional alignment with Procurement, Planning, Engineering, and Operations to ensure material readiness and schedule adherence

8. Champion a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement across the team

 

 

What you already know

1. Receiving, warehouse operations, material handling, and inventory control best practices

2. How to manage and execute material flow in a manufacturing environment (engineer-to-order / high-mix is a plus)

3. Use of ERP/WMS systems (SAP preferred) to manage inventory accuracy and transactions

4. Lean manufacturing principles such as 5S, visual management, and waste reduction

5. How to lead teams, manage performance, resolve conflicts, and build a collaborative, accountable work environment

6. Basic knowledge of logistics, shipping compliance, and material handling equipment (forklifts, pallet jacks)

This role requires you to work on-site at our office in Santa Maria CA, United States (US). You will be part of a dynamic team and enjoy the benefits of face-to-face collaboration.

This role reports directly to the Supply Chain Manager and will work and collaborate as an integral part of a tight-knit and dynamic supply chain team helping to support cost-effective on-time delivery of goods and equipment. Other extended team members include: Supply Chain Engineering, Technical Procurement, Logistics and Suppler Development who support a manufacturing facility that sells, designs, manufactures and services turboexpanders world-wide.
