You are a detail-oriented individual who proactively identifies hazards and ensures compliance with safety regulations and company requirements within a manufacturing and operational environment.

 

You'll play a key role in supporting production activities by promoting safe work practices and maintaining alignment with OSHA, ISO 45001, and internal safety standards. You are looking to build or further your career with a company that is a world market leader in expander technology used in sustainable turbomachinery solutions like geothermal power, waste heat to power, energy storage, solar power and hydrogen processes. The compensation for range for this position is based on skill.  Depending on skill the pay range  $97,564.90 - $141,955.63 annually paid every two weeks.  The compensation package may also include incentive compensation opportunities in the form of a discretionary annual bonus.  Atlas Copco provides industry-leading benefits including healthcare, 401K savings plan, company holidays, vacation, sick time, parental leave, tuition assistance, referral bonus and an employee assistance program. What you will own & improve

  1. Safety and compliance documentation, including incident reports, audits, and training records.
  2. Leadership and continuous improvement of Safety, Health, and ISO programs at Atlas Copco Mafi-Trench Company LLC.
  3. Oversight of manufacturing and operational activities to ensure safety requirements are met and risks are effectively mitigated.
  4. Management of safety-related Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs), Corrective Action Requests (CARs), and Preventive Action Requests (PARs).

To succeed, you will need

What you already know

    1. You have a degree or relevant experience in safety, industrial engineering, or a related field.
    2. You have a strong understanding of manufacturing environments and hazard recognition to support safe and compliant operations.
    3. You possess strong communication and documentation skills to develop, implement, and maintain safety procedures and records.
    4. You have experience leading projects or teams and collaborating cross-functionally with engineering, and production to implement continuous improvement initiatives.
    5. You have knowledge of safety-related standards and regulations (e.g., OSHA, ISO 45001) to support compliance and effective risk management.
    6. You are able to travel occasionally, both domestically and internationally.

 

How Success is measured

  1. Maintaining ISO 45001 certification with minimal or no findings from Lloyd’s Register during periodic audit inspections.
  2. Consistent, timely, and accurate execution of safety documentation, audits, and compliance activities.
  3. Demonstrated improvement in safety performance metrics to support safe operations.

This role requires you to work on-site at our office in Santa Maria CA, United States (US). You will be part of a dynamic team and enjoy the benefits of face-to-face collaboration.

About the Team:

This role reports to the SHEEQ Manger of a 219 person factory that sells, designs, manufactures and services turboexpanders world-wide.

 

Atlas Copco Mafi-Trench Company LLC is located on the beautiful Central Coast of California. We manufacture a wide range of Turbo Expanders and equipment that support renewable energy as well as liquified natural gas, chemical and petrochemical industries.
