Quality Control Inspector

Short Description

You are a detail-oriented individual who accurately performs inspection and test activities for custom manufactured equipment as well as supporting turbo-expander production in an ISO-9001 manufacturing environment. You are looking to start or further your career with a company that is a world market leader in expander technology used in sustainable turbomachinery solutions like geothermal power, waste heat to power, energy storage, solar power and hydrogen processes. The compensation range for this position is $25.68 to $39.54 hourly. Your day-to-day

What you will own/improve:

Individual inspection activities for individual manufactured parts including:

• Dimensional inspections of vendor received parts and in house manufactured parts using basic hand metrology tools and CMM 
• Positive material identification inspections o Dimensional and weld inspections for skid bases and weldments 
• Visual and liquid penetrant weld inspections
• Paint inspections

Your skills and experience

What you already know:

• You have mechanical aptitude that will help you gain the general technical knowledge to test and inspect machined and welded components, with hand tools and other non-destructive test methods such as visual and liquid penetrant tests. 
• You have technical writing skills that will help you generate non-conformance reports and disposition repair orders 

Physical Requirements/Essential Functions:

Working Conditions

• Manufacturing environment 
• Ability to lift up to 25 pounds 
• You will be enrolled in a Radiation Safety and Protection Program in order to perform positive material identification. 

Equipment Used 

• Small and medium sized hand tools forklifts cranes ladders and pallet jacks lifting equipment such as shackles cables and ropes creepers, carts 
• Personal Protection Equipment such as safety glasses, safety clothing and safety boots

Essential Physical Tasks 

• Ability to Stand, squat, climb, reach outward and overhead, kneel, bend and reach into large housings

This role requires you to work on-site at our office in Santa Maria CA, United States (US). You will be part of a dynamic team and enjoy the benefits of face-to-face collaboration
