Your role

Summary:

You will play a key role in the control and guidance of Atlas Copco Mafi-Trench Company LLC’s financial results, including reporting, forecasting and analysis. You will be responsible for complying with Atlas Copco policies as set forth in “The Way We Do Things,” and support and develop the organization and its resources in accordance with our growth plan. You will be an officer of the company and be a part of the senior management. You are a collaborator who finds it easy to work with the other Department Heads to gather required information for reporting and control of the company results. You are naturally curious and seek out new information to support forecasting and analysis of results. You are timely and detail oriented in all your work. The Business Controller reports to the General Manager and leads the Finance Department.

Compensation Statement: 

The compensation range for this position is $150,000.00 to $200,000.00 USD annually depending on skills. The compensation package may also include incentive compensation opportunities in the form of a discretionary annual bonus. What you already know:

  • Fundamentals of Atlas Copco business controlling including monthly, quarterly and annual reporting and forecasting.
  • The finance section of “The Way We Do Things.” 
  • How to be a great team member and build strong teams that freely exchanges necessary information for strong forecasting of results. 
  • IFRS and GAAP accounting rules. 
  • Fluency in English (a must) 
  • University degree in Economics, Business Administration, Accounting or similar academic background

How success is measured:

  • Timely reporting within Atlas Copco report deadlines.
  • Clear concise explanations of financial results and the reasons behind them.
  • Accurate financial planning and explanations of deviations from plan.
  • Internal controls to ensure compliance with “The Way We Do Things.”

Physical Requirements/Essential Functions:

  • Working Conditions: Typical office environment, normal automobile / airline travel 
  • Equipment Used: Laptop computer, Copy Machine, Printer, Scanner, Telephone 
  • Essential Physical Tasks: Ability to lift/carry approximately 30 lbs to carry airline luggage when on travel.

  • Company asset tracking and periodic inventory reconciliation.
  • Labor rates and variance analysis.
  • Job cost (Percent of Completion) analysis and risk contingency assignment.
  • Support for the pre-post analysis process and lifecycle profitability analysis by job/Customer.
  • Bank guarantees and letters of credit required by Customers.
  • Support for overdue analysis and collections. Support for payables and vendor credit terms.
  • Control of company credit cards.
  • Control of stock/inventory levels/destruction/write-offs.

What you will learn (if you don’t know already):

  • GPS
  • SAP S4 Hana and Enovia to gather data for process analysis.
  • Custom and standard turbomachinery manufacturing flow.
  • Best practices in accounting used at other Gas and Process (GAP) manufacturing sites.

This role reports to the GEeneral Manager and will work and collaborate as an integral part of a tight-knit and dynamic team helping to drive the results and growth of Atlas Copco Mafi-Trench Company LLC. Atlas Copco Mafi-Trench Company LLC is located on the beautiful Central Coast of California. We manufacture a wide range of Turbo Expanders and equipment that support sustainable resources. Locally our facility is a California Certified Green Business.
