Estimator

Your role
The Estimator is responsible for developing accurate and competitive cost estimates for the production of products and services offered by our company. This role works cross-functionally with sales, applications, engineering, supply chain, and manufacturing to translate technical requirements into detailed cost models and customer quotations.
Main Responsiblities:
- Prepare detailed cost estimates for standard and custom products and services, including materials, fabrication, assembly, testing, and commisioning.
- Collaborate with sales, applications, engineering, supply chain, and manufacturing to evaluate application requirements.
- Analyze RFQs, technical drawings, P&IDs, and specifications to determine scope, risks, and requirements.
- Generate formal cost breakdowns including materials, labor, testing, overhead, and margin.
- Generate formal quotes and proposals that align with customer specifications.
- Generate Bills of Materials (BOMs) and labor estimates.
- Identify gaps, assumptions, and exclusions in customer specifcations.
- Interface with supply chain to obtain vendor quotes and lead times.
- Participate in design reviews to ensure cost-effective solutions.
- Evaluate Make vs Buy decisions.
- Maintain and update cost databases for standard components and assemblies.
- Support handoff of awarded projects to project management.

- B.S. or equivalent work experience, or combination of education and experience required.
- 2-3+ years estimator or equivalent work experience required.
- Prior semiconductor, high vacuum, and high purity work experience preferred.
- Strong analytical and mathematics skills.
- Ability to work independently and demonstrate initiative.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Good MS Office, Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint skills.

Knowledge of Encompix/MRP/ERP system.

Ability to sit, stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 25 lbs.

Salary: $70,000-$80,000
Job location
This role offers a hybrid working arrangement, allowing you to split your time between working remotely and being on-site at our Saugerties, NY location.
