Quality & Logistics Team Lead

The Quality and Logistics Team Lead is responsible for providing direction on the shop floor to the Quality Technicians and Logistic team members to meet the daily output targets. This position is the key point of contact between the different functions with the focus of maintaining flow of product.  The team leader is responsible for training the inspection processes and ensuring all operators in the department can meet the quality standard.

To succeed, you will need

Responsibilities:

  • Performs inspections including First Article on fabricated parts/assemblies using various measuring tools and gauges
  • Properly identifies, documents, and processes conforming and non-conforming material
  • Works within Customer Portals to ensure proper distribution of inspection records, material certs, and associated documentation
  • Reconcile final inspection documentation for shipments
  • Inspects incoming parts/materials and flat pattern programs
  • Interprets engineering drawings/blueprints
  • Interacts with suppliers to ensure quality of all purchased parts and to review quality concerns if/when they arise
  • Interacts with customers to ensure quality of all fabricated parts/assemblies
  • Overseeing established calibration and preventative maintenance inspection programs
  • Validates received/shipped material/parts are verified to include count, identification, and quality, in accordance with applicable purchase orders
  • Responsible for managing inbound and outbound shipments, including preparation of paperwork, management of packing materials inventories, packaging of products to be shipped, and arrangement of transportation services
  • Manages material inventories, including inventory organization and racking, monthly cycle counting/reporting, physical counts of stocked material
  • Facilitates training to quality and logistics team members by providing supervision and technical guidance to team members as needed.
  • Communicates progress updates on Quality inspections and logistics status on product and manages troubleshooting across supporting functions Project management, , Engineering, and Intersite.
  • Responsible for Labor Transaction Maintenance for the Logistics and Quality team and accurate routing operations in Encompix.
  • Takes direction from the Flow Team Manager and other duties as assigned.

Education level

  • High School diploma minimum, Associate degree is a benefit.

Relevant Previous experience

  • 3-5 years Quality control experience required.
  • 1-3 years of lead or supervisory experience
  • Knowledge areas/Skills
  • Ability to read and interpret engineered drawings and diagrams.
  • Knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)
  • Knowledge of Logistics shipping software
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (outlook, excel, word)
  • ERP systems experience

Salary: $32-$37/hr
