We are hiring a Technical Manager (BeaconMedaes - Medical Academy) to join our team in Shah Alam.

 

This position will initially be reporting to the Regional Competence Development Manager (BeaconMedaes), based at the Atlas Copco (Malaysia) Customer Center.  As Technical Manager, your mission will be to achieve the company goals for the region in terms of the following: (Competence Development, Technical support, Promotion of Safety Standards and Codes across the region, and the ongoing MyMedGas integration to support and leverage business opportunities). The territory includes South-East Asia for the immediate market but extends to support MEACAT and APAC for training interventions and professional courses for NFPA 99 and HTM0201. This position will require local delivery of courses, and/or additional facilitator management, as well as external customer locations regionally.

 

The key responsibilities for this position are as follows:

  • Implementation of the Medical Academy for Gas Systems (MAGS) and ensuring we build a sustainable and profitable product service offering for internal and external customers alike.
  • The MAGS Academy must ensure that Global ‘Medical Gas Standards’ knowledge, together with Product and Systems competence is attained.
  • To also promote best practice throughout our regional teams, furthermore, to elevate this to a continuous improvement cycle. 
  • Supporting Regional Customer Centers in developing their operational ability through people development in terms of both standards, market & product knowledge. 
  • Collaborate closely in support of the indirect channels i.e. distributors, consultants, and other industry partners in support of the divisional strategy and to ensure customer satisfaction remains at the core.
  • Development and Management of the ongoing Business Plan for the new Training Academy (To be launched in July/Aug 2025).
  • Keep track of technical issues in support of the immediate regional needs and to assist with liaison, either with Wuxi, Markham Vale, or the Rockhill Tech support centres.
  • Expand the development of available courses, especially those related to professional certification, for example – Systems Design & Quality Control checks on Medical Air Plant.
  • To oversee and support the ongoing MDA Product certification process internal of Malaysia to ensure that our products can be offered into the market. (Ongoing) 
  • To support the Customer Centers in Malaysia, Singapore and Indonesia with specific reference to the local ‘Audit Process’ for product certification as required.
  • To engage with the Ministry of Health personnel (MOH), the public works departments (JKR) and Private hospital groups as part of an open forum to improve safety and awareness.
  • Support the Medical Regional sales team with training on the required sales tools, product knowledge and value or consultative selling techniques.
  • Leverage the opportunity through customer invitations to visit the Academy showroom.
  • Customers will be invited for ‘Lunch n learns’, product demo’s, safety and awareness of standards etc. The deliverable here would be for enhanced customer relations and to help drive business opportunities. 
  • Risk Assessment and the overall improvement of patient safety, and risk reduction in healthcare facilities.
  • Regional support for Major Projects, during technical evaluations and design as requested to enhance the clients experience during evaluation prior to award. 
  • Activation of New Platforms to deepen our market support as an output of the hospital mapping process interlinked with our MyMedGas platform.


Experience requirements:

  • Previous experience of 3-5 years in Product Development, Sales and Business Development Strategy / Global Medical Safety Standards / Designing new products to meet customer needs / distributors.
  • Excellent skills required in Communication, relationship management, planning and organizing.
  • Good experience of Atlas Copco (QAM Medical) products & service solutions.
  • Knowledge of regional and local market & customers is an advantage.
  • A good level of knowledge in Global standards, particularly HTM0201 / NFPA99 & ISO7396-1/ISO13485.

 

Educational requirements:

  • Engineering University Degree / Diploma
  • Excellent command of English language, written and spoken.
  • Some knowledge of Mandarin / other related languages will be an added advantage.
