Position Overview: Electronics Technician

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Electronics Technician to join our Gamma Vacuum team in Shakopee, MN. This role plays a crucial part in the manufacturing and assembly of our Gamma controller product lines, ensuring high-quality standards through hands-on troubleshooting, repair, assembly, and testing of electronic circuit board assemblies and products.

Key Responsibilities

  • Test Troubleshooting (15%)
    Diagnose and resolve issues with circuit board assemblies that do not pass functional tests. Provide detailed documentation and constructive feedback to Engineering and Quality teams to enable continuous product improvement.
  • Repair Circuit Boards (15%)
    Perform precise soldering tasks to remove and replace electrical components by applying industry-standard techniques, ensuring robustness and reliability of assemblies.
  • Testing Repaired Assemblies (10%)
    Conduct thorough production-level testing of repaired boards to verify functionality and quality standards before reintegration in production flow.
  • Assembly of Gamma Controller Products (15%)
    Assemble various Gamma controller products according to detailed engineering specifications and protocols, maintaining attention to detail and adherence to quality guidelines.
  • Product Testing (15%)
    Execute comprehensive testing procedures on finished products to ensure compliance with performance specifications and customer requirements.
  • Engineering Support (15%)
    Collaborate with Engineering teams by assisting in the assembly and testing of prototype circuit boards, contributing to product innovation and development cycles.
  • Inventory Control (10%)
    Maintain organized and accurate inventory practices, ensuring all components and assemblies are tracked efficiently to support production operations.
  • Additional Duties (5%)
    Perform various responsibilities as assigned to support team effectiveness and operational excellence.
  • Work Authorization
    Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States.

Required Education and Experience

  • Associate Degree in Electronics or Electronics Technology or related field.
  • A minimum of 5 years of relevant manufacturing and process experience within the electronics industry.
  • Strong troubleshooting experience with electronic components and printed circuit board assemblies (PCBAs).
  • Proven hand-soldering skills on PCBAs employing industry-standard methods.
  • Experience in assembly and automated testing of electronic products.
  • Ability to accurately read and interpret engineering drawings, circuit schematics, bills of materials (BOMs), and work instructions.
  • Proficiency using diagnostic tools such as multi-meters and oscilloscopes.
  • Experience with organized inventory control systems to maintain part integrity and traceability.
  • Effective communication skills with an emphasis on collaboration and customer focus, both internal and external.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications for reporting and communication.
  • Some leadership experience or demonstrated ability to work independently and guide junior colleagues is advantageous.
