Material Handler I

The Material Handler I plays a crucial role within Gamma Vacuum, ensuring efficient and accurate management of inventory and materials to support our manufacturing operations. Situated in the vibrant office and warehouse located in Shakopee, Minnesota, this role demands a detail-oriented professional capable of managing multiple tasks in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Receive all incoming inventory, verify quantities against purchase orders, and transport items to their designated warehouse locations with precision and care.
- Pick kits and parts required to support various work cells, ensuring smooth production flow and timely availability of components.
- Conduct incoming inspections on specific parts to assure they meet quality standards, collaborating with quality and engineering teams to address any discrepancies promptly.
- Perform weekly cycle counts in the warehouse and across work cells to maintain accurate inventory records, utilizing JobBoss and SAP systems to document transactions diligently.
- Manage Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) shipments by receiving, processing, and physically delivering them to the customer care center, contributing to efficient and customer-focused operations.
- Maintain exemplary organization and housekeeping standards within the warehouse to promote a safe and productive working environment, strictly adhering to all safety protocols and proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Assist the shipping department as required, providing support to ensure timely dispatch of goods and readiness for logistics operations.
- Generate and manage bin labels or identification signs to support easy identification and retrieval of materials within the warehouse.
- Work collaboratively with purchasing, accounting, engineering, and quality control teams to resolve any material discrepancies, delivery issues, or quality concerns that arise during daily operations.
- Serve as a backup user for SAP shipping documentation to ensure operational continuity within shipping and receiving processes.
Education and Skills
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Preferably 3-5 years' experience in warehouse receiving within a manufacturing or production setting.
- Forklift certification is an advantage, highlighting capacity to operate warehouse equipment safely.
- Exceptional attention to detail with strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Proficiency with computers is essential; experience using inventory management software such as JobBoss and SAP will be beneficial.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and collaboratively as part of diverse, multifunctional teams.
- Demonstrated ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic manufacturing environment while meeting schedules and production demands.
- Strong communication skills to facilitate cooperation and problem-solving with internal teams and external partners.
