Application & Technical Support Manager, Start Up Company

Your role
As a Application & Technical Support Manager, Start Up Company, your mission is to develop the strategy and roadmap of technology and products by driving innovation and continuous improvement, and establish application and technical support, and marketing intelligence competence in China. You will report to Generral Manager.
You will
Business Growth and Customer Relationships
- Lead the customer interface for applications related matters, responsibly communicating in a high quality, persuasive manner through all relevant channels and media
- Lead engagement with customers on next generation technologies and roadmaps, and influencing product developments to support customer’s future needs
- Negotiate and manage customer joint developments and technical partnerships
- Cascade group strategies into local market with definite action plans
Market-leading positioning
- Work closely with account teams to develop and implement competition- winning product value propositions
- Develop internal relationships and be a key part of the technology team developing company’s value selling strategies
- Generate thought leadership through participation and presentation in local technical workshops and symposiums
- Ultimate responsibility for low-warranty technical solution proposals through up-to-date knowledge of product portfolio & roadmaps, and customer intersection
Applications Team leadership
- Coordinate, supervise and mentor the applications team, aligned with group strategies and goals
- Manage recruitment, goals and performance of the applications team to ensure the applications team meet the business goals and expectations, focussing on talent development and staff retention
- Define and implement training and development processes and plans to facilitate continual technical and professional development of the applications team

- Bachelor’s degree and above in Science / Physics / Mechanical / Electrical
- 10+ years of working experience with more than 3 years as Application Manager or equivalent
- Knowledge of vacuum pump/vacuum systems or rotating equipment and design applications concepts.
- Verbal and written English skills
- High motivation to win business and high sensitivity to customer needs
- Sensitive to the commercial and marketing issues underlying the technical work being undertaken
- Ability to develop working relationships with customer engineers and managers to influence other departments and peers
- Self-motivation and ability to work under pressure
