Your role

Major Responsibilities

Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Define the strategy, and agile operational model for the Desoutter Software team to act as a focused, entrepreneurial unit within the organization.
• Build and lead a high-performing team including functions such as Product Management, Software Development, and Customer Engagement.
• Own the software business Objectives and Key Results (OKR) in China, from product strategy and roadmap definition to commercial execution and customer success.
• Establish and govern clear processes for VOC (Voice of Customer), requirement prioritization, and agile development to ensure timely delivery of solutions that meet local market needs.
• Develop the localized software product roadmap with a primary focus on enabling and connecting the entire Desoutter Ecosystem (Asset, Automation, Vision, etc.).
• Drive the "Software-Defined Hardware" strategy, ensuring our software becomes a compelling reason for customers to choose and standardize on the Desoutter ecosystem.
• Lead software integration to facilitate data flow from our devices to customer IT systems (MES, ERP), enhancing the connected rate of Desoutter assets and the value proposition of every connected asset.
• Design China adapted value propositions and pricing models that reflect the strategic value of software as an ecosystem enabler.
• Support to set up software specific incentive plans to empower the CPI/CPS Sales force to sell software solutions effectively, by providing them with clear use cases, demos, and competitive tools.
• Act as the primary bridge between the China Software Team and Division, balancing the need for local agility with global strategic alignment.
• Collaborate with all product lines (Assets, Light Automation) to identify synergy opportunities and co-create value.

To succeed, you will need

Education & Experience

• Bachelor's/master’s degree in computer science, Software Engineering, Automation, or a related field. MBA is a plus.
• 8+ years of progressive experience in software product management, business development, or general management within the industrial software (MES, IIoT, SCADA) or Smart Manufacturing sector.
• Proven track record of building and leading agile software teams, with a deep understanding of the full software product lifecycle and development methodologies (Agile, Scrum).
• Deep understanding of the Chinese industrial landscape (Automotive, Robotics, Aerospace, Electronics). Proven ability to translate customer pain points into successful software products and business models.

Knowledge & Skills

• Exceptional market analysis, business model design, and strategic planning skills.
• Strong understanding of industrial software architecture, cloud platforms, data analytics, and integration protocols. Ability to communicate effectively with technical teams.
• Expertise in value-based pricing, P&L management, negotiation, and sales enablement.
• A holistic mindset that sees the strategic value in connecting products and data to create sticky, platform-level solutions.
