Your role

Mission

Your primary mission as an Onsite Engineer at Atlas Copco is to enhance customer satisfaction by delivering exceptional service quality and expert consultancy directly at customer locations. You will play a pivotal role in driving the adoption of our service products, thereby contributing to the growth of our service-related business.

Key Responsibilities

  • Independently execute the installation, calibration, repair, maintenance, and troubleshooting of Atlas Copco tools with precision and professionalism.
  • Handle installation, debugging, and basic troubleshooting of Atlas Copco software, ensuring seamless operation for clients.
  • Implement tightening services at customer sites effectively, adapting to specific operational requirements.
  • Develop comprehensive service plans adhering to contract obligations, ensuring timely and accurate service delivery.
  • Conduct product operation training sessions for customers to empower them with the knowledge needed for efficient use of Atlas Copco products.
  • Perform and report on “Walk The Line” activities, identifying and resolving issues proactively.
  • Collect and manage quality assurance data, oversee warranty claims and reporting processes.
  • Monitor and respond to customer complaints promptly, ensuring issues are resolved to satisfaction and follow-ups are complete until closure.
  • Maintain continuous and transparent communication channels with customers, reinforcing trust and partnership.
  • Mentor and guide other on-site technicians to uphold service standards and complete service tasks efficiently.
  • Identify and escalate business and technical risks promptly by raising appropriate red flags.
  • Record work activities and labor hours accurately and timely within the operational systems to support business metrics and compliance.
  • Gather, analyze, and present key performance indicator (KPI) data to highlight service performance trends and areas for improvement.
  • Provide detailed technical problem solving and root cause analysis reports to prevent recurrence of issues.
  • Support team leaders with administrative and contract management tasks to streamline service operations.
  • Manage on-site assets including safety Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and fire protection equipment to ensure compliance and safety readiness.
  • Adhere strictly to the company’s Safety, Health, Environment, and Quality policies, promoting a safe and sustainable work environment.
  • Fulfill additional duties as assigned by management to support business objectives and team functionality.

This role requires you to be adaptable, self-reliant, and customer-centric, ensuring that every service delivery exceeds expectations and strengthens client relationships.

To succeed, you will need

Education and Experience: A college degree or higher in mechanical or electrical engineering is required; degrees in computer science or related fields are advantageous. You should bring at least three years of aftermarket service experience in industrial products, with additional software service knowledge considered a strong plus.

Technical Knowledge and Skills: Profound understanding of mechanical, electrical, and electronic systems is essential. Familiarity with PLCs, Fieldbus, and Ethernet IT protocols is mandatory. Software troubleshooting skills enhance your effectiveness in this role. You must possess excellent diagnosing, repairing, and troubleshooting abilities coupled with proficiency in MS Office and general PC use.

Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Effective communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills are critical to engaging customers and colleagues successfully.

Language: Proficiency in both written and spoken English is required to ensure clear and professional international communications.

Job location

You will be embedded within our customer center located in Shanghai. As a vital member of our dynamic field service team, you will work remotely while frequently traveling throughout China to attend to customer sites within your assigned territory. This role requires substantial mobility and flexibility to provide timely on-site support across the region.
