Procurement Lead

Your role
As a Procurement Lead, your mission is to
Lead the Sourcing and Supplier Quality function for VSC product localization in China, driving the development of a competitive, qualified and resilient local supply base for complex products and components. You will report to China Program Manager.
You will
- Lead the sourcing strategy and execution for product localization projects from supplier scouting through qualification and production ramp-up.
- Develop product and sourcing strategies, including local vs. global sourcing, supplier selection and supplier allocation.
- Identify, evaluate and develop capable Chinese suppliers for technically complex products and components.
- Lead cost analysis, Should-Cost / Should-Pay and commercial negotiations to achieve competitive product costs.
- Build strategic supplier relationships and drive supplier performance in Cost, Quality, Delivery and Technology.
- Work closely with SQEs to ensure effective supplier qualification and industrialization, including APQP / PPAP.
- Act as the key interface between Chinese suppliers and global Engineering / R&D teams, facilitating technical communication and localization decisions.
- Read and understand English engineering drawings, BOMs and technical specifications and translate technical requirements into sourcing and supplier development actions.
- Lead and develop a team of Sourcing and SQE Engineers and drive effective cross-functional collaboration.

- 10+ years of experience in Procurement, Strategic Sourcing and/or Supply Chain Management.
- Strong and demonstrated experience in product / supply chain localization and China supplier development.
- Solid experience in strategic sourcing, supplier management and commercial negotiation.
- Strong understanding of product cost structure, Should-Cost analysis and cost reduction methodologies.
- Good knowledge of supplier quality and industrialization processes, including APQP and PPAP.
- Able to understand English engineering drawings, BOMs and technical specifications.
- Strong English communication skills with the ability to work directly with overseas Engineering / R&D teams.
- Strong project management, analytical, negotiation and stakeholder management skills.
- Experience in technically complex, precision-engineered products is highly preferred, particularly in industries such as vacuum technology / vacuum pumps, automotive turbochargers, high-speed motors and drives, aerospace engines / turbomachinery, semiconductor equipment, or other advanced manufacturing industries.
