Your Role as Quality Control Manager
In this pivotal role within Atlas Copco’s Industrial Technique sector, you will lead the Quality Control team responsible for ensuring that all newly developed standard products meet both company standards and customer expectations for quality and performance. You will define and implement comprehensive Quality Control strategies aligned with manufacturing processes and customer requirements. Your mandate includes overseeing the entire quality lifecycle from incoming materials inspection, assembly monitoring, to final product release and after-sales quality feedback management.
Key responsibilities include managing QC team dynamics and budget allocation to foster a culture of safety, competence, and continuous improvement. Engage closely with product development and manufacturing teams during new product introductions to embed quality standards from the outset. You will develop robust quality control procedures tailored to each product type and build strong partnerships with suppliers to elevate their quality assurance capabilities.
You will lead the team in conducting rigorous IQC and OQC inspections, maintaining thorough documentation to provide reliable product traceability. Handling non-conformities and concessions effectively, you will spearhead root cause analyses on critical issues, proactively shaping corrective actions and preventive measures. You will also own the closed-loop quality feedback process from customers to ensure continuous refinements, collaborating cross-functionally to strengthen product reliability and customer satisfaction.
Additionally, you will audit key quality processes and support new supplier development initiatives, driving improvements in quality cost and process stability. By steering selected quality improvement projects with strong return on investment, you contribute significantly to the operational excellence and strategic goals of Atlas Copco’s quality organization.
To succeed, you will need
- Bachelor's degree or higher in mechanical, electrical/electronic engineering, instrumentation, automation, or a related technical field.
- A proven track record of 5-10 years in quality roles within large-scale production environments for mechanical or electrical/electronic products.
- At least 2 years of experience in quality management with leadership responsibilities.
- Strong technical knowledge in mechanical, material engineering, welding, machining, and surface treatment processes.
- Proficiency in quality inspection techniques, quality control tools, and continuous improvement methodologies.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Fluency in both written and spoken English and Mandarin Chinese to effectively engage with international teams and customers.

Job location
This position is based on-site at our state-of-the-art office located in Shanghai, China, facilitating close collaboration with production, engineering, and quality teams.
