The Role
Mission
As a System Validation Engineer for the CPD R&D validation team, you will be part of the global headquarter team and contribute to new product and business development that strengthens CPD’s market position, with strong focus on power tools and automation solutions for the Chinese and global markets.
Your mission is Responsible for system validation activities throughout the product development lifecycle, ensuring that mechanical, electrical, software and integrated system functions meet customer, quality, reliability and safety requirements before product release.

Major Responsibilities
Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
System validation and risk management
- Conduct risk analyses on mechanical, electronic and software-integrated systems; build functional analyses to structure safety and validation studies.
- Identify residual risks and define how they will be closed through testing, simulation, design evidence or feedback from previous projects and field experience.
- Write project validation plans together with project leaders, R&D developers, designers and validation stakeholders.
- Define validation coverage not only for normal functional operation, but also for robustness, recoverability, boundary conditions, misuse scenarios and customer integration conditions.
- Ensure validation plans support product quality, reliability, safety and performance requirements before customer release.
Validation execution and product maturity follow-up
- Plan, organize and monitor execution of validation activities according to project schedule and priorities.
- Coordinate cross-disciplinary validation reviews with R&D developers, designers, software engineers, project managers, application/service teams and external laboratories when needed.
- Track product maturity by following test execution, anomaly closure, risk mitigation status and validation evidence.
- Present factual validation status: tests completed or not completed, results compliant or non-compliant, open risks and recommendation for decision making.
- Support management decisions on product release, continuation of development, phased objective achievement or additional validation actions without compromising safety or normative requirements.
Customer requirements, robustness and recoverability
- Capture and capitalize knowledge from customer requirements, commissioning feedback, product complaints and lessons learned.
- Translate customer usage scenarios into validation cases, including PLC integration, communication loss, emergency stop, reset, calibration interruption, power loss, NG tightening, recovery sequences and service operations.
- Compare product performance against customer needs and internal quality reference standards; propose updates to validation requirements when gaps are identified.
- Drive standardization of validation methods across projects, especially for innovative products where unknown use cases may not be fully covered by initial requirements.
Knowledge capitalization and continuous improvement
- Create validation reports, anomaly summaries, risk closure evidence and lessons learned to improve future product development efficiency.
- Maintain and improve validation procedures, checklists, risk analysis tools, test matrices and reference frameworks.
- Promote new validation methods and tools, including functional safety methods, Weibull/reliability analysis, automated test scripts, digital simulation or other advanced approaches when applicable.
- Contribute to improvement of internal processes, team interactions, training and validation capability development.
- Represent the validation function in internal and external technical exchanges, supplier/customer visits, laboratories, working groups or certification-related activities when required.

- 联合研发开发、设计、软件、项目管理、应用/服务团队及必要时的外部实验室开展跨职能验证评审。
- 通过测试执行、异常关闭、风险消减状态和验证证据跟踪产品成熟度。
- 客观呈现验证状态:已完成/未完成测试、符合/不符合结果、未关闭风险以及决策建议。
- 在不突破安全和法规/标准要求的前提下,为管理层关于产品发布、继续开发、分阶段达成目标或追加验证活动提供事实依据。
客户需求、稳健性与可恢复性
- 沉淀客户需求、现场调试反馈、产品投诉和项目复盘经验。
- 将客户真实使用场景转化为验证用例,包括PLC集成、通信中断、急停、复位、校准中断、断电、拧紧NG、恢复流程和服务维修操作。
- 对比产品性能与客户需求、内部质量基准之间的差距,并在发现缺口时推动验证要求升级。
- 推动跨项目验证方法标准化,特别是针对创新产品中初始需求未完全覆盖的未知使用场景。
知识沉淀与持续改进
- 输出验证报告、异常总结、风险关闭证据和经验教训,提高未来产品开发效率。
- 维护并改进验证流程、检查清单、风险分析工具、测试矩阵和质量参考框架。
- 在适用时推广新的验证方法和工具,包括功能安全方法、Weibull/可靠性分析、自动化测试脚本、数字仿真等。
- 参与内部流程、协作方式、培训和系统验证能力建设的持续改进。
- 根据需要代表验证职能参与内外部技术交流、供应商/客户访问、实验室协作、工作组或认证相关活动。

What we expect of you?
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree or above in mechanical engineering, electrical/electronic engineering, automation, mechatronics, reliability engineering or equivalent engineering background; bachelor’s degree with strong relevant experience may also be considered.
- Preferred: 5+ years of experience in product validation, system testing, reliability engineering, functional safety, automation equipment, mechatronics or similar high-quality requirement industries.
- Experience in automation products, tightening/spindle applications, motion control, PLC integration, electronics or software-integrated systems is preferred.
- Experience in building validation plans, leading test execution, coordinating cross-functional issue resolution and writing technical reports is preferred.

Knowledge & Skills
- Strong understanding of system validation methodology, risk analysis, functional analysis, FMEA/FMECA and product maturity assessment.
- Knowledge in functional safety, reliability, quality, mechanics, electronics and automation; familiarity with ISO 12100, ISO 13849 or related standards is a plus.
- Ability to design test matrices covering functionality, robustness, recoverability, boundary conditions, serviceability and customer integration scenarios.
- Ability to read mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and control drawings; understand PLC signal mapping and system-level interface logic.
- Strong root cause analysis, troubleshooting, technical reporting and evidence-based decision support skills.
- Familiarity with reliability analysis tools such as Weibull, functional safety software, test automation, data analysis or simulation tools is preferred.
- Good PC and MS Office skills; good English communication skills, CET4 level or above.
