Senior R&D Engineer

Your role
As a Senior R&D Engineer at Atlas Copco in Shanghai, you will play a pivotal role in maintaining and continuously enhancing the reliability and performance of our released products. Your responsibilities will include comprehensive management and optimization of product data, processes, and systems to ensure seamless operations and superior product quality.
- Monitor and maintain stable operation of production line products, promptly identifying and resolving any abnormalities or defects.
- Oversee detailed management of EBOM structures, CAD drawings, and technical documentation, ensuring consistent version control and adherence to naming and classification standards.
- Lead root cause analyses for product issues and customer complaints (QCM), develop effective corrective actions, and implement long-term solutions to prevent recurrence.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on design, process optimization, and material innovation to reduce costs while enhancing efficiency and product quality.
- Facilitate cross-department collaboration with marketing, production, engineering, and quality teams to address product feedback, manufacturing challenges, and implement quality improvements.
- Manage PDM/PLM systems in close coordination with the Sweden PLM team, ensuring smooth document uploads, version management, engineering change requests, and process compliance.
- Develop and conduct technical training sessions and knowledge transfer activities, including preparation of user manuals and standard operating procedures in collaboration with standardization engineers.
In this role, you will contribute significantly to the successful delivery and ongoing enhancement of our automated screwdriving and other specialized equipment, supporting customers across 3C consumer electronics, medical, and pharmaceutical industries.
Your expertise in mechanical design, product lifecycle management, and data governance, combined with a proactive and collaborative work ethic, will enable you to deliver outstanding results in a dynamic, cross-functional environment.

- Minimum 5 years of experience in mechanical design or testing of automation equipment, preferably within 3C consumer electronics, medical, or pharmaceutical sectors.
- Proficiency in SolidWorks 3D CAD software and PDM systems for effective product data management.
- Strong analytical problem-solving skills with the capacity to identify root causes and implement corrective measures.
- Excellent communication and coordination abilities to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Preferred experience with automatic tightening or feeding systems and a customer-oriented mindset.
