Senior manufacturing engineer

Your role
- New Product Introduction, New Technology Introduction and Capacity Ramp Up:
- Develop CAPEX projects of multiple million USD value. Use project requirements defined by leadership team to develop concepts, produce designs, obtain quotes, compile financial models, draft project schedules, perform safety assessments, and submit business cases to kick off the projects and apply for project budgets.
- Execute CAPEX projects of multiple million USD value. Manage internal and external stakeholders including different functional teams, suppliers and contractors to safely deliver project deliverables on schedule and on budget. Chair internal project meetings, track expense and schedule progress, and report into management team. Perform post-project review and effectiveness measurement.
- Maintain capacity models for STCs in role scope, collating site configuration, remanufacturing standard time, and volume forecast data to provide foresight of equipment utilisation changes and implement the measures accordingly.
- Continuous Improvement:
- Develop & execute portfolio of continuous improvement projects (CIP), consisting of:

- projects proactively generated by manufacturing engineering team through application of the knowledge and expertise and application of tools such as Value Stream Mapping (VSM), Capacity Models, LEAN Six Sigma, Automation, Digitalization, AI, etc.
- inputs gathered from local teams (Operations, SHE, Quality, Finance, etc.) and global teams (NPI, Lean, Industrial Engineering, Technical Support, Innovation, etc.)

- Regular priority alignment and performance reviews with GM and operations managers to ensure regular, structured alignment and follow up of CIP programs.
- Execute time-study program, ensuring products allocated to region are time-studied in line with internal standard.
- Coordinate the submission & review of Kaizen applications of STCs in role scope in the Kaizen Review Council.
- Fulfil engineering scope of Vacuum Technique Production System (VTPS) e.g. attend site operations meetings, conduct site walkthroughs, support problem solving activities, etc.
- Change Management:
- Implement internal directives, such as Service Information Bulletins, issued by global teams to address quality or operational issues.
- Coordinate the submission & review of Concession/Permit and Engineering Change applications to internal change control council.
- Process Audit:
Execute program of engineering audits to ensure deviations from published operation standards are identified and addressed.
- Assist Regional Engineering Manager to build up and develop a high-performing Manufacturing Engineering Team:
- derive SMART objectives for local engineering team members based on regional engineering function objectives.
- manage continuous development of self and team members through identification/application of structured planning & regular progress review and attendance of appropriate internal and external training courses.
6. Other tasks which are assigned by management team.
To succeed, you will need
- A Bachelor’s Degree or above, and major in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering or other similar fields.
- At least 5 years of experience in an engineering working environment, and experience of managing a team is a plus.
- Fluent communication in oral and written English & Mandarin, must be able to hold technical discussions, and strong communication skills across geographical and cultural borders.
- Strong time management skills and multi-tasks capability.
- Project Management Professional related certificate is preferred.
- Comprehensive Knowledge of high-accuracy mechanical system design and manufacturing is preferred.
- Intermediate level of knowledge in lean manufacturing and quality tools (e.g. Kaizen, Time-Study, VSM, PFMEA, Problem Solving Tools, etc.) and safety management tools (risk assessment, permit to work, etc.).
- Proficient in use of engineering and prodcutivity tools e.g. AutoCAD, MS Project, O365.
- Rich Experience of developing and executing a variety of project types including Building New Plant, NPI, LEAN/Six Sigma/Automation related Continuous Improvement Projects, etc.
- Solid experience of managing external stakeholders including suppliers and contractors.
- High level of customer focus, and proven record of success experience of understanding and fulfiling needs of customers or other stakeholders.
- Able to work effectively with people from shop floor to management team.
- High level of organisational awareness, and experience of influencing and delivering results without direct line of authority.
- Experience of change management and building consesnus in challenging environments.
