The Role:
SERVICE PLANNER will manage and coordinate service and materials planning to support customer orders, repairs, and inventory availability in alignment with business, operational, and financial targets. This role collaborates with cross-functional teams to ensure effective scheduling, replenishment, and customer communication across the STC and regional service logistics network.
Scope of the Job
- Accountable for planning and inventory of 4,000+ SKUs supporting regional spares, 3rd-party sales, and repair operations.
- Extensive interaction with STC management, engineering, logistics, customer care, and global supply teams.
- Supports growth initiatives by ensuring availability of critical service parts and execution of planned work.
- Occasional travel may be required.
- No direct reports.
What we expect of you:
- Manage service and materials planning based on forecast, customer POs, engineering changes, and regional demand.
- Coordinate SIOP (Sales, Inventory, and Operations Planning) to schedule all STC demand—repairs, sales orders, STOs, and service exchange stock.
- Monitor and adjust daily order schedules, capacities, and inventory availability.
- Maintain accurate service order status in SAP; open, track, and close service orders timely.
- Support capacity planning and maintain capacity models in collaboration with STC management and Zone Leaders.
- Oversee spare parts inventory sizing and replenishment using statistical modeling and input from global and regional logistics teams.
- Ensure STC spares and component availability through coordination with PC supply teams and local warehouses.
- Manage and update master data: part numbers, BOMs, task lists, lead times, reorder points, and sourcing logic.
- Support new product introductions, product obsolescence, and engineering changes with appropriate updates to inventory and planning strategies.
- Generate and maintain KPI reports for planning, customer service levels, inventory performance, and logistics operations.
- Communicate proactively with Customer Care and internal stakeholders regarding order status, delays, expedite requests, and supply constraints.
- Execute exception management processes for product availability, reprioritizing or converting stock when needed.
- Participate in lean activities, 6S, Kaizen, and business process improvement (BPI) initiatives.
- Raise purchase requests and source quotes for necessary equipment and services.
- Perform general administrative support duties related to service and materials planning.
Skills / Knowledge / Experience
- Degree or qualification in Engineering, Science, or Business.
- 2–3 years of experience in supply chain or service operations planning.
- Strong understanding of ERP systems (SAP required), inventory management, and order processing.
- Proven project management capability with on-time, on-budget delivery.
- Analytical mindset with ability to interpret data and improve performance.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with planning software preferred.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills; ability to collaborate cross-functionally.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
- Fluent in English (written and verbal).
