Your role

Kinder-Janes Engineers Ltd are the UK Customer Centre for the newly formed Atlas Copco Industrial Flow Division.  We specialise in Pumps, Compressors and Process Equipment, representing both Atlas Copco brands such as Lewa and Varisco, plus many other world leading manufacturers and are looking for a Service Engineer to join the Aftersales Team.

 

You will

  • Effectively diagnose faults on customer equipment.
  • Undertake planned and preventative maintenance on pumps & systems.
  • Perform emergency breakdown fault finding and repair and where possible advice on root cause and prevention.
  • Commission pumps and systems, both Positive displacement and Centrifugal.
  • Recommend additional works and upgrades that may assist customers or enhance performance and reliability.
  • Maintain good professional working relationships with existing and new customers and promote after-sales opportunities.
  • Complete work, service reports, timesheets, job sheets, recommendations neatly and submit in a timely manner in accordance with laid down procedures.
  • Complete appropriate risk assessment and method statement paperwork before commencing work scopes and comply with customer’s site health and safety and environmental procedures.
  • Internal & external technical support, including attending Customer and Manufacturer premises both in UK and overseas as necessary.
  • Respond promptly to all forms of incoming communication, acting on and giving out accurate information in support of excellent customer service or involving others as appropriate.
  • Communicating and cooperating with colleagues across all areas of the business to support efficiency and effectiveness, contributing to a shared sense of team working and professionalism.
  • Operate in accordance with and update and maintain Company administrative systems including enquiry, order and customer databases.

•    Appropriate apprenticeship or similar background – experience of rotating equipment preferred.
•    Numeracy and good written and verbal communication skills.
•    IT competence e.g. Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams.
•    Good product and technical knowledge (manufacturer training).
•    Current BOSIET and Offshore Medical would be an advantage but not essential.
•    Be prepared to travel for OEM Product Training (Local / International) as well as onshore servicing and offshore servicing / Commissioning.
•    Clean driving licence is essential.
