Your role

 

We are seeking a motivated and talented master student to join us in our Product Compliance team for a thesis project focused on evaluating and improving sustainability in software development. The project will involve investigating how our current software development processes and practices can better incorporate sustainability principles. The outcome will be a practical framework to guide the integration of sustainability into our software development activities. With your research, you will play an important role in our company’s sustainability journey. You will be at the forefront of software development, helping us ensure that our software is not only efficient and of high quality, but also has minimal environmental impact. 

 

Your mission will be to:

  • Conduct a comprehensive review of our current software development processes to identify where sustainability aspects can be considered
  • Assess and synthesize relevant frameworks, methods, and standards for evaluating sustainability in software development
  • Analyze the impact of different software design and development choices on performance, maintainability, cost, and environmental footprint
  • Develop a set of recommendations and a practical framework to support the integration of sustainability into software development
  • Prepare and present research findings

 

To succeed, you will need

 

  • You are studying in the final year of a master's program in software engineering
  • Creative problem-solving abilities
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Committed to sustainability and ready to drive positive environmental change
  • Fluent in English (Swedish is optional)
