Your role

 

Target:
To build a dynamic calibration test rig for calibrating an Inline Rotary Torque Transducer (Mechanical Design) 

 

Background:
Factories are using handheld pulse tools in assembly areas to boost productivity. These tools provide fast, reliable tightening with minimal reaction force and allow for one-handed use. Compared to impact wrenches, pulse tools offer greater accuracy, less noise, and lower vibration levels.

Currently, torque sensors are only calibrated using static methods. Traditionally, tightening occurs slowly (10–100 RPM) and can be considered as nearly static. With modern tools operating much faster and pulse tools delivering greater accuracy (a torque pulse lasts about 1 ms) there is growing interest in calibrating torque sensors dynamically, ideally up to 2000 Hz.

 

Mission:
Design a robust and flexible dynamic calibration test rig for calibrating an Inline Rotary Torque Transducer.
