Your Role
As Global Portfolio Lifecycle Manager – Service, you will lead the full lifecycle of the service product portfolio for assigned technologies - from New Product Introduction (NPI) to sustaining engineering, legacy support, OFM (obsolete for manufacturing), and End‑of‑Life (EOL). Your work ensures that every product in our portfolio is service‑ready, future‑proof, and supported by a world‑class global service organization. This is a global role that requires close collaboration with Product Companies, Equipment Divisions, and Service organizations worldwide.
Main Responsibilities
- Own the service lifecycle for assigned technologies, covering NPI, legacy product support, OFM decisions, and EOL planning.
- Develop top‑level service concepts and define Design for Service (DFS) requirements with product companies and cross‑functional stakeholders.
- Ensure all NPI service deliverables are completed—spare part readiness, documentation, processes, and launch alignment.
- Build and present service business cases that influence product development direction and service strategies.
- Serve as the product authority supporting global teams including Technical Support, Service Development, and Customer Centers.
- Support VTS Academy on training needs and contribute marketing material for global service launches.
To Succeed you need
- You hold an engineering degree or have equivalent technical experience.
- You bring several years of experience in manufacturing, engineering, or industrial equipment service (ideally with rotating machinery).
- You have a proven track record of managing complex technical or commercial processes (approx. 5+ years).
- You offer solid expertise in product development or product management.
- You demonstrate excellent analytical skills, clear communication, and strong stakeholder management.
- You work with high attention to detail and combine it with commercial awareness and sound reasoning.
- You are confident using SAP ERP, O365, and other digital tools.
- You communicate fluently in English (written and spoken).
- You are customer‑centric, accountable, self‑driven, and eager to learn.
- You collaborate effectively with diverse global teams.
Location:
This role offers a hybrid working arrangement, allowing you to split your time between working remotely and being on-site (China as preferred location).
