Field Service Specialist - Turboexpanders

Your role
As a Field Service Specialist with Atlas Copco Mafi-Trench Company you will perform comprehensive field service activities on turboexpander packages, ensuring optimal functionality and reliability of equipment in various industrial settings.
- Conduct thorough equipment inspections, preventive maintenance, detailed overhauls, and precise repairs adhering strictly to OEM procedures and recognized industry standards.
- Support and lead startup, commissioning, and performance testing phases for turboexpander systems, guaranteeing smooth operational handover and client satisfaction.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, and operational challenges; identify root causes accurately and implement effective corrective measures to minimize downtime.
- Prepare meticulous technical service reports documenting findings, repair activities, recommendations for improvements, and equipment performance metrics to support continuous improvement initiatives.
- Interpret complex engineering drawings, assembly procedures, technical manuals, P&IDs, and specifications to inform maintenance and repair approaches.
- Perform precision alignment, vibration analysis, bearing inspections, and employ specialized measurement tools to uphold equipment integrity and performance standards.
- Collaborate closely with customers, engineering teams, and project managers, fostering effective communication and coordination to ensure the successful execution of service projects within agreed timelines.
- Maintain strict compliance with all company safety policies and procedures, customer-specific requirements, and environmental regulations to promote a safe working environment.
- Provide expert technical guidance and training to customer maintenance personnel, helping build their skills and self-sufficiency in maintaining turboexpander equipment.
- Effectively manage field service tools, equipment, and parts inventory, while maintaining accurate and up-to-date service records to facilitate efficient operations.
Compensation is competitive with an hourly rate ranging from $52.54 to $61.30, paid biweekly. To succeed, you will need
- Possess a high school diploma or GED; candidates with technical degrees or vocational training in relevant fields are preferred.
- Have a minimum of 3 years’ experience servicing turboexpanders, rotating equipment, turbines, compressors, or comparable industrial machinery.
- Demonstrate strong mechanical troubleshooting abilities along with proven repair competencies.
- Be adept at reading and interpreting engineering drawings, technical instruction manuals, and maintenance procedure documents.
- Have hands-on experience with precision measurement instruments and alignment tools essential for maintaining equipment accuracy.
- Exhibit proficiency in using computers and service reporting systems critical for efficient documentation and communication.
- Hold a valid driver’s license and be prepared to travel extensively within the United States and internationally, up to 75–100% of the time as project demands dictate.
- Be capable of obtaining all necessary site safety certifications and passing customer-mandated requirements, including Department of Transportation (DOT) Pre-Employment and Random Drug and Alcohol testing.

Job location
This is a remote position based anywhere within the United States, requiring proximity to a major airport to support domestic and international travel needs effectively. Flexibility and willingness to travel extensively are essential components of this role.
