Mechanical design engineer

The Role

• Be part of a project team to develop new products based on the framework of Atlas Copco guidance to follow-up and further design/localize the products currently in production, against the committed time, cost and quality requirements.
• Schedule development plan and track progress throughout NPI projects.
• Prepare preliminary concept sketches, feasibility studies, schedule and establish preliminary design, evaluate prototype models and research materials review.
• Create concept design in 3D environment and EBOM. Defining layout, and defining product architecture on EBOM
• Create 2D drawings with GD&T for critical parts
• Create and lead DFMEA review with cross function to guarantee product safety and quality from design point of view
• Analyze the critical components of the products and draw the specifications
• Take initiatives and bring in creative ideas to control and reduce the cost of new and existing products.
• Clarify technical requirements and discuss with supplier to optimize the design for manufacturing in an economic way
• Adopt a continuous improvement mindset towards the design processes, continually looking for ways to improve.
• Create bill of material, detailed instructions for manufacturing process of new part, specification for packaging, external supplier specification to provide standard cost structure and instructions for manufacturing
• Releasing all engineering drawings and specifications through systems.
• Make mechanism investigation like bearings, gear, belts, dynamic and static sealing, thermal management system, lubrications, noise, and vibration
• Maintain a technical construction file on a product’s development including all design data and test results.
• Active participation in PTM, TCM for NPI project, production and field quality issues.

What we expect of you?

• Education level - Bachelor/master Degree level in a relevant engineering science discipline, with preference to Mechanical Engineering
• Detailed understanding of New Technology and product Development processes and procedures
• Detailed technical understanding of wet pumps
• Excellent 3D and 2D design skills, with Inventor, CREO or equivalent 3D design tools
• Knowledge of Castings, Plastics injection, Sheetmetal manufacturing technologies, hydraulics and pneumatics, assembly technologies
• Excellent ability to produce design notes and calculations
• Demonstrated ability to conduct Functional Analysis, DFMEA
• Well organised, displaying clear, rational, creative and analytical approach to problem solving and planning.
• Willing to look for / explore new solutions or methods and promote innovation spirit.
• Has the ability to communicate effectively at various organisational levels and with different cultures.
• Strong leadership, organizational, communication, and prioritization skills
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in english
• Knowledge of MS Project, Office 365, SAP
• Positively to support the technology topics realted to all the engineering projects
• Travel to other product companies and customer centers, manufacturing, supplier and customer sites is expected as required and could be up to 25%.
