Outside Sales Representative

Your role
Execute an effective and successful industrial vacuum equipment sales strategy for assigned territory, markets and key customers. Enhance the company‘s reputation and brand image by consistently working to implement the company’s core values of commitment, interaction, and innovation. Deliver customer value with integrity and be a trusted partner with customers.
Responsibilities to include
- Prospect, source, and maintain quality customers in an assigned area.
- Achieve or exceed assigned sales goals by developing action plans and schedules to identify specific sales. prospects, targets, and/or markets and to project number of contacts to be made.
- Manage, call on, and sell products directly to customers in assigned area.
- Follow up on new leads and referrals resulting from field activity.
- Establish rapport and maintain regular contact with existing and new customers (particularly key accounts)
- Respond promptly to customer inquiries.
- Actively engage in planned prospecting activities geared at increasing the customer base
- Obtain, develop or otherwise prepare, deliver, and present sales materials, exhibits, and promotional programs
- Prepare for and attend exhibits, conferences, meetings, and other local, regional, and national promotional opportunities.
- Prepare and present quotes, proposals, pricing, credit terms, and renewal, extension, or alteration of service contracts to customers.
- Oversee customer services through quality checks and other follow-up; identify and resolve customer concerns.
- Enhance our Company reputation and brand image by consistently working to implement the Company’s core values of commitment, interaction, and innovation.
- Generate sales growth through new and existing customer opportunities and applications
- Prepare reports as assigned relative to activity, lost orders, closings, follow-up, and performance against budget.
- Report on special developments, information, or feedback gathered through field activity, including recommendations for product, service, pricing changes and evaluation of competitive developments.
To succeed, you will need
Experience requirements
- 2+ years of sales experience
- Customer focused
- Strong mechanical and problem solving ability
Knowledge
- Ability to effectively communicate in English, both verbally and in writing
- Proficient in math and computer operations
- Strong in Microsoft Office, including Excel and Word
Educational requirements
- Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, operations, or equivalent work experience
Additional requirements
- Must be able to travel up to 50% of time in US and/or Canada
- Update job knowledge (for both products and sales/marketing strategies and skills) by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; networking; and participating in professional organizations.
- Proactive and commitment to solve problems “do not let a problem remain before the sunset”
- Solid and effective communication skills – verbal, written and interpersonal
- Be able to lift up to 50 pounds

Job location
This role offers a hybrid working arrangement, allowing you to split your time between working remotely and being on-site at our (insert organization here) in Traverse City, United States (US) or can be further discussed.
