Senior Buyer

Your role
As a senior buyer for PC-Traverse you will be an integral part of the supply management team working closely with all departments and Leaders to maximize the effectiveness, compliance and management of the strategic sourcing function. In addition, this role will support the execution of daily tactical/transactional ordering. Ensuring supply continuity for operations and minimizing production disruptions related to materials will remain the upmost priority. This includes direct communication with suppliers for quotations, purchase order generation, confirmations and call-offs.
Job description
- Manage long lead time items in accordance with level meetings and actual usages of assigned items to ensure a smooth supply chain flow while balancing on-hand inventory
- Manage MRP settings in the ERP system and utilize this tool for generating new & changes to existing purchase orders of assigned items while ensuring proper on-hand inventory is maintained internally
- Manage phase in/phase out as needed for items
- Lead and manage supplier and component transfers to support projects and report in project meetings
- Ensure suppliers are informed of the production planning and usage data for their internal planning for call offs
- Manage the day-to-day relationships with suppliers and maintain accurate supplier information (contacts, price changes, compliance, etc…)
- Enter and follow up on purchase orders to prevent production line disruptions
- Improve the purchasing and planning process and tools to reduce non-value-added tasks and increase digitalization
- Identify risks to the supply chain and develop/implement plans to mitigate
- Manage the supplier selection process with pricing analysis and negotiations as well as risk and technical ability
- Drive assigned projects to completion
To succeed, you will need
- Bachelors' degree preferred
- Experience with an ERP/MRP system
- Must be computer literate with Microsoft Office
- Strong interpersonal skills with ability to network and deal effectively and professionally with internal and external stakeholders
- Strong problem solving skills
- Min 5-7 years of supply chain/purchasing/procurement experience
- Strong negotiation skills with ability to demonstrate
